dvc 2 bedroom

Hi all, was thinking about renting a 2 bedroom , family is 6 adults, 3 small kids, do you think a 2 bedroom would be too small for family, all thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated, thanks !

You would want to be careful about which 2BR you rented. Some 2BRs are limit 8, and while they allow one child under 3 along with tnat 8, they get tight. You'd want a 2BR that natively sleeps 9 - meaning, they offer a bed surface for each person. (Certain 2BRs allow 9 to be booked but have 8 beds.)

OKW 2BRs are huge and is probably the best for space with that size group.

I would do OKW or a treehouse at SSR, I do believe they sleep more and allow for more room. I've done at 2 bedroom at BLT, but even with the three bedrooms there isn't sleeping space for 9 and that could be really tight.

The relationship of the group also matters. I would share a room with my husband and children, but would not want to share with other adults. A 2 bedroom would probably be too small for my taste, but YMMV. I think it works best when each family or couple has their own room.

THV sleep 9, but be sure to look at how. The bunks are shorties.

Check out the AKL-Kidani 2BR villas. They sleep 9 and have 3 full bathrooms. You can look at the room layouts on-line to see if you think that will work for your party.

I agree it’s all about the relationships. We’ve done 5 adults 3 kids no problem but we are all very close.

Its important to go into it knowing what the sleeping arrangements will be, as you potentially have 5 people who need to be okay with pull outs and potentially 3 sleeping in the living room.

there is sleeping space for 9 in a BLT 2 bedroom. 2 in the master, 4 in the additional bedroom, 2 on the sleeper sofa and 1 on the sleeper chair.

technically, you can put 9 in some dvc 2 bedrooms, but we don’t like to. We had 7 in a BLT, VGF and a kidani village 2 bedroom. We made it work, but with people sleeping in the den, they never have any true privacy and it makes the kitchen area off limits in the morning so they don’t get woken up early.

The THV don't have any king sized beds. Only two queen beds, one set of bunk beds (shorter and narrower than twins), one queen sleeper sofa and one twin sleeper chair in the living room.

When you put six adults in a two bedroom villa, if you are talking about three couples, you will have either two couples sharing the second bedroom or one couple in the second bedroom with two kids and the other couple in the living room on the sleeper sofa with a kid in the sleeper chair. The configuration with the twin sleeper chair in the living room would be at AKV, BLT and OKW only. The other two bedrooms don't have the twin sleeper chair.

Even though it accommodates 9, the sleeping surfaces don't seem ideal. I know it would work for a lot of people, just not for me.

We didn't have a sleeper chair in our 2 bedroom in May, only the sofa, the other two chairs were definitely not ones that could be pulled out. Thankfully we didn't need it, but even if we had that many people and had a sleeper chair it would have been way too tight for my liking. As I usually say, just because you can doesn't mean you should. I would personally go with a 2 bedroom and a studio in this situation.
