What do we need to bring? The twins will be about 16 months then. What is the crib situation? We'll definitely bring a stroller. We probably only need carseats if we are renting a car, right? We usually pay for a grocery delivery so I am thinking i could order diapers, am I right? Any insight appreciated. I am not sure what the villas have as far as amenities that you can request.

There is a pack n play in every DVC villa. I think you could request an extra one. Depending on your travel. Needs you could bring your own stroller or rent one from an outside company. We did that( a double wide) and it was great but my kids were older than 16 months and you might need your own at the airport. You CAN typically check cars eats for free with most airlines if you are renting a car, just be sure you have a good travel bag for them.

I would recommend ordering diapers and groceries, we've used garden grocer before. Depending on bag fees and your airline, diapers take up a lot of room!
Pack laundry soap (or order it) so you can pack lighter and wash clothes in the villa.

I think almost all airlines except perhaps Sprit allow free check in of a car seat. I know for sure Southwest, United and Delta do.

Consider using the carseats on the plane. We always bought a seat for our youngest ones (even at 10 months). We didn't have twins, so it wasn't doubling our airline cost. If you check the carseat, gate check it to reduce wear/tear on the carseat. I have heard that checking a carseat can be as damaging as having it be involved in a car accident. I will put an asterick by that statement, as I don't have an official source.

They also usually have one restaurant style high chair, guessing if you can get a second pack and play, you can request a second high chair. It was a great bonus for us.

I suggest bringing your own pack and play sheets (if you have them). The ones we owned were flannel, and much softer/thicker than the traditional pack and play sheets.

Have fun! You will love the convenience of a kitchen and washer/dryer.

Consider using the carseats on the plane.

I don't think that all carseats meet airline regulations for use on a plane so be sure to check the sticker on your carseats if you decide to use them.

What airline do you fly that check car seats for free?

I believe even spirit will for free. Check the fine print and if anyone gives you a hard time ask for a supervisor. I have heard stories of car seats getting damaged when checked, but we have a heavy duty bag for ours, and I can even cram my daughters booster seat in it.

You can definitely request a second pack n play and a second high chair...no problem.

If you rent a car you may want to bring your own car seats, other than on the plane (if you want to use them) you won't be able to use car seats on Disney Transportation.

Magical Express from the airport and the WDW bus system do not allow car seats.

When I travelled with babies I didn't mind packing diapers because I knew that would free up room for the souveniers on the way home :)

You can rent cribs if the babies will not do the pack n plays.

I put in a second pack n play request, maybe I will practice a few nights here before we go. they nap in them fine! I like the diaper/souvenir tradeoff!!! I know I will bring some no matter what just because I'll be terrified of a diaper shortage.

Just remember to bring a change of clothes for the plane ride. Spills, accidents and sickness do happen...

... we did a road trip and hotel stay when our twins were that age. We stayed at an Embassy Suites, so some similarities to 1BR.

2 pack&plays worked great. They napped in the BR part because it was quieter and slept in the LR part at night. We just didn't open the pull-out, and we had enough room.

Our twins used the Fisher Price portable high chairs/booster chairs, and we were able to strap them onto the dining chairs. You might be able to rent something like this if you think it would work better than 2 high chairs.

We were at my work conference, so sometimes we were both available, and sometimes it was just DH and the kids. We used 2 umbrella strollers with connectors. Then either 1 parent could push each stroller if unconnected or 1 parent could push the connected set-up. That arrangement might be OK for the airport, but might not work as well in the parks. Maybe bringing or renting a double jogger instead?

Have fun! Twins are awesome. :thumbsup2

I have used the connectors with umbrellas and it worked great at wdw. I have also rented a double when dh took the stroller out of the car to fit the suitcases. Duh!!!!!

I would also pack diapers for souvineer room but with twins I think you may have to do both :)

I buy the laundry sheets that have soap and dryer sheet in one for when I travel to a condo with laundry. Makes life so much easier!!

Vacationing in a condo is the only way to go with little ones :). I love it!! Have fun!

We avoid strollers as much as possible. We are going on a Disney trip with a two year old and 1 year old and are going to use two carriers instead. (Boba and Tula) I know some people like bringing strollers, but we find using a carrier much easier and comfortable.

I bring both a carrier and our MacLaren to Disney. If you bring a stroller make sure it folds and unfolds quickly because you will have to fold it to get on any busses. Our BOB has not made a trip to Disney for that reason!

I find that the carrier gets really hot for me and be baby depending on the time of year and temp.

When we travel with grandkids, we ship a box of necessities to our resort. We include diapers, pack 'n play sheets, familiar toys, toiletries, snacks, etc. We prepay for a label to ship the box back home and use it for souvenirs, leftover stuff, no- longer needed clothes. Works well for us.

Not just for the babies! For you and hubby as well! Spilled an entire yogurt drink on myself one time while traveling alone with my little one. I had to use his blanket to clean me up, terrible mess!
