Hi! I don't know if anyone has reported on the DVC cruise yet but I just wanted to say that dh and I had a great time vacationing with other DVCers. It was such a success that I suspect DVC will offer other special DVC get togethers in the future. We completed a survey in which they asked if we would like another DVC cruise or a get together in Disneyland, Paris or Disneyland, California. At the reception on Wednesday night, we shouted outloud that next time we wanted the whole ship!! There were about 1000 members onboard this trip. As for special events - There were two receptions. A Welcome Aboard Party ( Deck 10, Forward) on Sunday night and a 10 Year Anniversary Reception ( Atrium) on Wednesday night. It was a lavish affair with champagne, fruit, cheese, and hot and cold appetizers/hors d'oeuvres. When we checked into the cruise terminal there was a DVC desk where we received a DVC lanyard and name tag. The name tag had a number on it which would be used for door prizes during the cruise. Door prizes were drawn from these numbers on Sunday and Wednesday night. At the Sunday reception we were given a Member Challenge card to
complete during the cruise which would be turned in on Wednesday for a drawing. For the Member Challenge we had to get the names of 10 cast members and when they were first employed with Disney, the signatures of DVC members from each of the DVC resorts ( The Beach Club Villas were the most difficult but there were a few new members on the cruise:) ), the number of cast members onboard the cruise, the name of the photographer at Castaway Cay, etc. If I remember correctly, these cards were put in a special drawing for framed pictures of different DVC resorts. The Grand Drawing for the Cruise was for FREE 2003 dues!!! Sure wish I could have gotten this! There were drawings at the Member Updates on Monday and Tuesday and dh got 2 DVC umbrellas, a key ring, and a DVC cup. Gifts for EVERY DVC member included a special DVC 10th anniversary pin, DVC cap, and a DVC shirt. We all wore these for a group photo at Castaway Cay and the group photo was delivered to our stateroom on Wednesday night as another great momento of a wonderful get to-gether. If DVC offers other special member events in the future, I urge everyone to attend. It is great vacationing with other members! DVCers are the BEST!!

Thanks for the great update. We had already booked a 4 day cruise (we leave May 12th) or we definately would have considered going. I hope they do another DVC cruise but with more notice so that we can go. Sounds like you had a great time!

Cruising on the Nov 30th Magic with another DVCer - michellemouse. She asked if we wanted to be connected with their dinner table and of course we said yes. Cant wait!

Hello,
My daughter and I sailed the Wonder with fellow DVCers, I'm suffering the post vacation blues today. I finally unpacked the last bag, hung up the group photo from Castaway Cay and began putting change in the Castle bank for our next adventure (we booked the 7 night Western Caribbean for February 1st). I have sailed the Magic twice before, but there is omething so extraordinary about being engulfed by so many like minded individuals.
If you have the chance to gather with other DVCers on any other planned vacation - run, don't walk to make your reservations. There's nothing like it.
Sweet Disney Dreams to all,
Dawn Hope

DW and myself were also on the DVC cruise (I was the guy with the white DVC Members cap) and we had a great time. Our tablemates were great and the weather was just about perfect.

Castaway Cay was the best! The sun and the food and everything was so good. We are still walking around in a fog after getting home and wondering when we can do it again!

We were without the kids this trip and that really made it special!;) Got to enjoy the adult pool and some Spa visits without the kids paging us! And being with fellow DVC'ers was great!

Can't wait to do it again!

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time! We didn't receive the postcard until after the cruise was full :(. Maybe next time :)!

Yes....I've got a feeling they will do this again! DVC is aware that there are alot of unhappy DVCers who missed out on this cruise.

Dan......I just got my group picture out and was looking for you:)
Are you the guy in the front of the 0 on the lower right side ( sailboat side)? We also vacationed without our kids too this trip! Actually.....I was sick the first day from the Bomine I took. If you recall, we did have rough wind and waves that first night. Anyway.....I finally figured out it was the Bomine zonking me out rather than seasickness. By Tuesday afternoon I had all the medication completely out of my system and that was when I really began to enjoy the cruise. Sure wish it had been a 7 day cruise:) Oh yeah.....if you by any chance went to the early ( 6:30) show of Want to Be a Mouseketeer then I was the blonde who won the plush Mickey Mouse at the end of the show:)

Hi Harriet,

We are on the left side of the "0" about 3/4 back. You can see my arm sticking out with the sand as a background and my wife is looking over my left shoulder with sunglasses on.

It was a little rough the first night. Our tablemates wives were a little under the weather! We did not get to the Mousekeeter show this trip but it sounds like you did well!

I hope thay announce another DVC cruise soon. I am ready!

Dan......I think I found you this time:) Does your hand look like it is reaching towards the frond on the palm tree? If I ever find dh and me then I will let you know:( We are in the mass of humanity on the right side of the 0. Orginally, we were on the outside of the 0 till the late comers came:( Oh well.....we do have some great pictures that we bought at Shutters:Pinkbounc

No, we are in the "0" not the "1". We are on the left side as you look at the picture about 3/4 of the way back on the outside row. My right hand is up and its just about touching the end of the shadow at the end of the 1. You can just make out my white hat and there is a woman behind my left shoulder with red hair and glasses. Thats my wife.

We were first-time cruisers on the DVC anniversary cruise, and boy are we spoiled now! It was great! We can't wait to do it again. :)
