DVC 1000 pt Club or above........

Maistre Gracey, I too think of you when I go ride the Haunted Mansion. :) Are all your points at VWL?!?

Sorry guys, I had to copy ya'll and start a club for us "less unfortunate souls" - DVC 200 pt Club or below......
We've had quite a nice turnout on the thread. ;)

(And yes, I know, having 200 points is still pretty darn fortunate!)

Poorman is right. We were under the assumption that it was 2000 total too. That's until we met a CM a couple years ago that had 2000 at OKW and 1000 at HH. He explained that it is per resort with a 5000 total. We looked it up and sure enough it was in the older material from 1997. I can't find it in the new handbook though.

Hi, Shan. We have 800 points at VWL, and 300 at VB. This seems to be the right split for us so far.

PS- Your "200 or below" thread is too funny! :teeth:

Well I'm the middle child once again. I don't have near enough to be in the top and with 300 I missed the bottom too.:p

We can adopt you into the 200 pt Club or below if you would like! :)
(Shhh... Just don't mention to the others that extra 100.)

mom2rb....you should start a "just enough" DVC points club. Not so many you are giving lots away to family and friends and not too few so you are begging, borrowing and stealing...I mean banking, borrowing or renting points to make your dream vacations

and not too few so you are begging, borrowing and stealing...

DRATS! I was hoping to "steal" some points from some of these 1000 clubbers! (not liek they wodul miss just a few...) You have ruined my plans doubletrouble!!! :smooth:

I used to be in boating. People always felt that because someone owned a $150,000 boat, that they must be rich. Usually didn't consider that these people were in hock up to their eyeballs, and that many of them would end up in bankruptcy court the first time an unexpected expense came along. Usually, the people who *didn't* own a boat had much more money and credit available than those who did own one.

For all you know, these people might make the same money you do, but live in a trailer and drive a 1982 Chrysler "K" car so they can support their DVC fix.

Sorry.....

Sorry Nick, got to disagree with you big time on this one. It seems to me that you purposefully omitted the poster because you disagreed with the way he conducts himself or your interpretation of his motives. That is not right, IMO. An explanation in parenthesis or similar might be a better way to make the same point.

I'd have to admit I've felt Nuthut was at times self serving and he does appear to have the points to mainly rent. However, I'm sure he uses them also and he is both a DVC member and a member of this forum so he should be included in any listing of members that match his point criteria, at least if he chooses to. Besides, he bought all but one retail supporting our resale habit.

As for the max number of points, it is 2000 per resort with a Max of 5000 total PER PERSON. I don't know how this is viewed for joint ownership but know that my wife is not on one of our contracts. Plus decrease my totals from 885 to 835 as I've sold the 50 pt OKW contract it appears. Sell one more this summer and I'll be down to one at OKW and one at BWV.

I am not sure it's about being up to your eyeballs in debt, but rather how you choose to spend your money. Some like to have a big house, some like to have the nice boat, and yet others may enjoy expensive jewelry and fancy clothes.

My wife and I are certainly not part of the "wealthy elite", but we choose to spend our discretionary income on DVC / Disney vacations.
My wife and I were actually debating between the extra DVC points and a Corvette.
The points won. :D

I respect your opinion so I hope you respect mine, and that of a lot of other regular posters who feel the same as I do, and have also posted or thought that on this thread.

I respect your opinion Nick but not the conclusion. It's not right, IMO and no matter how many share the belief, it'll never be right. It's no different than picking on the geek or overweight kid, etc.
