During special events, do you still need to use FP+?

Sorry for posting here instead of runDisney thread but you guys are great in answering any questions here.

My son just bought "post race party" ticket for me for Epcot on 11/6. It's special event for those who ran the Dine and Wine for the runners and their guest(s) (paid $79 for me).

Party starts at 10 pm but they are letting us in at 8 pm.

I'm thinking this concept must be same for other special events Disney has letting guests enter early.

1. Can we get FP+ for those 2 hours (8 pm to 10 pm) while it's still open to the public? (Park closes at 10 pm to the public.)

2. Do they have FP+ available during special events or is it not necessary since it's limited guests?

3. I read for special events, you need wrist bands. Where do you get the wristband? Is there table set outside the entrance to get the wristband?

1. Yes. (I don't know if they can be booked in advance. That remains to be seen.
But, you can get same-day FP, at least.
2. Nope.
A. It may or may not be "necessary" (likely not) but there are none issued or used, regardless.
3. They will be available when you enter the park.
B. It may be outside or inside the gates, but you won't have any trouble finding/getting the bands.
