We went to WDW in Feb. 2000. We were at the Fantasyland rope when it dropped and ran like crazy to the Dumbo ride. This was the last day of our trip, so my DH decided to video me and kids (ds 3 1/2, and dd 18 mo.). We were near the front of the line, along the gate that separates the line from the Dumbo rides. Mickey and Minnie were there greeting the kids in line. They each picked a child to ride "Dumbos first flight" with and Minnie picked my kids! I was so-ooo excited! Probably more so than the kids...LOL! I rode along too, being the overprotective mommy that I am, I was worried that Minnie might not be able to hold onto my dd very well with her big white gloved hands!
It was awesome...after the ride ended, Minnie walked hand in hand with my kids and took them through Fantasyland to the place where the characters pose for photos. My kids were allowed the first pictures with Minnie of the day, and were given a "Magical Moments Certificate" with their names on saying that they rode Dumbo's First Flight with Minnie. This was our first trip to Disney with kids, and I'm sure we'll never be able to match that one! Planning to go again this Sept. with 3 kids now, and can't wait for more magical moments!
