(Dumb?) Question about points

I've read so many threads, that I'm sure I've seen this here; but, can't quite remember.

*We're thinking of buying at SSR for our first DVC membership. We really like the additional years, amongst other things.

*I've read alot about buying small add-ons as they're easier to re-sell, etc...

*Assuming we bought 150 @ SSR then added on, say, 100 @ VWL; would we be able to book a reservation 11 months out at VWL using all 250 points? Or are we restricted to the 100 pts at that particular resort...at least until the 7 month mark?

You can only use the 100 points for the VWL at the 11 month window. The points from SSR could only be used at the 7 month window at VWL.

Additionally, if you decided to "borrow" from next year also, you'd have 200 points at VWL to use at the 11 month window. You then "bank" the SSR for use next year at SSR, you'll have 2 years worth of points to use at the 11 month window the next year.
A lot of members use banking and borrowing to achieve the desired results. I'd guess that more borrow (as do I) than bank.
