Dumb persons step by step guide to Photoimpact 11 PLEASE

Hi,

I can create web sites but not work out photo impact. Can someone please do a step by step guide on how to put one of your fantastic frames onto a photo>

Also, a step by step guide to making the frames

Basic as is file - open - etc.....


I just purchased ulead my scrapbook and video studio but you guys have me hooked on trying to do frames.

I hope you get an answer! I had the demo version of Photo Impact and never could figure it out. And I usually "get" things pretty easily. That just kind of escapes me, somehow.

I have an older version of Photo Impact so I'm not sure how similar they are.

I start off by creating a a new image, when the screen comes up to size it I make it user defined, and size it to the size photo I want, 4 x 6, 5x7, etc.

Make sure the background is transparent, from there I add images. If the image you want has a white background around it you can use the magic eraser feature to quickly erase the white.

I'm not much of a teacher, but I hope this get's you started, JuliaandNick's mom is our resident expert but she hasn't been around much lately, hopefully she'll she your post and give you a few tips.

The best advice I can give is just play around with the program.

I am i=using atthe momewnt like alot of us photo impact 11. I know how to open up a photo and that is about it.....have no idea how to merge the two, or get rid of the white background in the wonderful frames people have done....

Actually all you have to do is open your photo, and then insert another object from file, which will be the frame. It will be layered on top of the photo, you will have to move and or resize them to make them work. If the frame is a gif image the area where the photo goes should already be transparent, if not use the magic erase function to erase the white part.

Hi,

I have opened the photo, inseted the object file, now i have a really small frame that is highlighted on edges on the photo in the corner. How do i make this bigger? When I go to resize the program wont let me resize anything...just shows the sizing of the photo.

You're going to use the transform tool to resize the frame, it should already be active, that's why the edges are highlighted. If not the transform tool looks like a square clock. When this is active put your curser on one of the corners and your curser will turn into an arrow, when that happens hold down the left mouse button and pull out on the image, it will resize.

Thank you....the frames are almost like a postage stamp but slightly bigger, how do you make these bigger?

I have gotthe frame now to centre a little bigger but it is still selected....how do i crop the pic and save the picture with the frame?

Also, if the actual frame saved from here that is too big for the photo? How do you shrink that?

OK--now I feel like a dummy. (I have EVEN PRINTED the help directions!!) Resizing is my problem. Selected : Adjust. It will not let me select anything BUT base image. HELP!!!

Hi,

I have no idea how t oresie the frames but...my photos are big so i shring them and the frame kind of comes better.....place over your picture where you want it and click edit - crop. Make sure your inmpact is ina dvanced mode. My photo is what is resizing, notthe selected frame you add in.

I worked that out but the big animal kingdom frames and magic kingdom, need resizing.

We will get there!! Dosn;t even want to ask how to change the dates or make them though...lol

I am having the same problem.. these frames would be great if we could actually USE them!

I finally used one!!! But I don't remember how I did it!!! I pressed SOOOO many buttons!!!

I have to reinstall PhotoImpact on my laptop tonight. When I get that done, I'll try to do a step by step guide on how I put a frame around my picture. It took me a lot of time playing with it to get that figured out as well. I still have so much to learn about the software. It is not intuitive at all.
