DUES Info! - All resorts dues have been released

Just noting if I buy DGCs tagged specifically for dues I don't bother combining them on the DGC website. It's an extra step which can honestly cause problems (fraud lock if you mistype a card too many times, slow speeds to combine funds, errors if you do too many things in one session, etc).

The DVC website takes multiple payments no problem. I just apply DGCs directly to my master contract (.0). You have to type the DGCs once anyway so I find this is actually one less step. DVC also emails you a confirmation with the first 12 digits of the DGC used and your updated negative balance.

I actually always combine my cards to my designated eGift cards prior to paying for anything. Why? If you sell a contract and have paid dues on a gift card, I've read that the dues go back to the same gift card. Same thing with any returns. If I didn't have the gift card anymore, I'd be out of luck!

I keep the gift card numbers from my gift card purchases organized in my phone's notes app, linking it to the eGift card I transferred it to. This is why I'm always excited when new eGift card designs are released in the Disney store, because the design differences allow for more easy gift card tracking. Then I add each gift card to my budgeting app and track it throughout my stay so I always know how much is left.

Disney refunds your dues when you sell a contract? Or do you mean if you have a negative balance?

I apply all of mine to .0 so that contract is not going anywhere and I know I am not selling in the next two weeks. I don't apply throughout the year. I have been paying the past few weeks with all these deals.

I've had DGCs with "too much activity" lock and it's really a huge pain. Sometimes I can't transfer funds, but I can still apply to dues so I just drain and will toss once the statement cuts. I always keep my receipts and physical/digital cards until the trips, orders, dues, etc are completed and I know they will not be needed for refunds.

If you prepaid dues (which I have a tendency to do) I feel like I read that if you sell the contract, the dues end up back on the gift card you paid with.

I'm thinking I will probably try charging everything to my magic band this next trip, then paying everything once per night at the hotel desk via gift card.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall your experience is that once the dues bill comes along, anything negative on that .0 contract gets reallocated across all your contracts, right? I've been trying to keep it roughly pro rata across my contracts, but I suspect once I see that in action for myself, I'll follow the same strategy next year. That would definitely simplify things.

If you have multiple Disney gift cards, you can use disneygiftcard.com to combine them, for up to $1,000 total per gift card. Once you combine tham, it's recommended to remove them from the website.

When paying dues online, select the gift card option and enter the amount you want pay. There's no limit to how many payments you can make.

Yeah, if someone hacks your account and you have a card stored there with value, it is super easy for a hacker to transfer it and the amounts are gone. Probably not a huge risk if you have a good password and regularly change it but also super easy to delete the cards and add them back on when you want to transfer any amounts.

You would also have to provide the attacker with the multifactor code Disney sends you via SMS when you log in to disneygiftcard.com from a new computer. So it would take a bit more than just someone getting your password.

Yes; you can pay early to one contract before dues post, and it will distribute automatically.

You can just do it once, the night before checkout. Thats what I do.

I’ve been adding $500 cards to only my bigger contracts so there wouldn’t be anything left over, but just adding to the main .0 sounds like the way to go!

A common vulnerability:

Person uses same password for their main email and also for a weak security website. The low security website account gets leaked. Someone takes that data dump and starts running the associated email and password until one of those doors open. They can scan saved emails for likely leads. Once inside the victim’s email, they can also now request a password reset from a site like Disney gift cards. After they transfer the funds to a new card number, they can go back and erase all associated emails in the victim’s email. With any luck they can do it overnight and the next morning all evidence gone by the time the person opens their email account. They might never know someone else was in there. As unlikely as this all sounds, it happens. I try to update my main email password regularly, and never use that password or a similar one anywhere else.

Someone here on the boards - $785 gc went to $0. In the end Disney saw the new gift card number spend the funds at Disneyland before the real owner was aware it was missing.

I am freaking out. Someone stole the funds from my gift card. I had it linked in the Disney gift card website where I would transfer funds from smaller cards onto this main card. I had $785 on it and now it’s gone!! The only help I got was to email guest services. Then as I pressed the girl on the phone to give me more assistance she transferred me to shop Disney where they sent an alert to the gift card department to get in touch with me.
Transaction history shows the bulk of the money was spent at Disneyland resort. I’ve never been to Disneyland in my life. I’m really worried I...

When we went to use a gift card, we were told in the parks that the 'network' was down. This also impacted MDE online food orders. If a customer tried to buy something, or place an order, the order would not go through, other times the card showed a zero balance.

This = it is doubly important to keep track of gift card balances. I thought funds were stolen, but now I am pretty sure it was just an error of about $15. I need to go back and check the balance of the gift cards we used. ugh!
