Dues and direct debit?

I paid the dues monthly direct from the checking on my first contract. I also added on points that have just had their dues come due with this new statement.

With the shortage and the new contract, can I expect to see it just taken out of my account monthly or what?

I'm new to DVC and just received my first dues statement (My first payment was deducted 1/1/06).
Are the entire annual dues deducted on 1/15/06 or is it done monthly on the 15th???

I know that I can call the toll-free number, but I am at work and don't have it wth me. And....I just knwo that people on DIS will know the answer.

My dues are deducted on the 1st of each month. Disney did (will ) do a debit on 1-15 for the amount of my monthly dues + a catchup on the shortage on property taxes. Then starting Feb 1st they will again deduct the new monthly dues.

Thanks for the reply. I had visions of a $700+ deduction from my checking account on 1/15.

Is there a fee to use the monthly debit option?

No there is no monthly fee for this. The dues just need to be debited from your checking account. You can set this up with MS. I find it much more convenient than 1 large payment in January.
