Duct Tape?

Someone suggested bringing duct tape along...Why??????

As a "fix-all" for various disasters. There were threads about this many moths ago; some had experience using it to fix torn seams in clothing, fix broken luggage, eye glasses, etc.

Actually, they do make it in convenient travel sizes just for this purpose: Click here to look at it at The Container Store.

Now, that shown, you can do that yourself just by taking a square of cardboard and winding the tape around it yourself to achieve the same effect.

Sometimes the cabin doors open and slam shut, or the ladders for the bunk beds rattle a little bit. The duct tape would be great for things like that. Or, if you need a way to keep connecting cabing doors open.

Of course, I packed this, we didn't need it, so DH has this on his list of - won't be wasting luggage space with this again.

It's also handy for emergency luggage repairs, to hold your cabin curtains closed, and for emergency clothing repairs...

My husband has the tape in all our cars and the garage along with WD40.
He says--- You need only 2 tools WD40 and duct tape. If it does not move and it should use WD 40 if it moves and should not use the tape.
Must be a man thing

My husband's suitcase was torn on the taxi ride to the airport. Apparently something in the taxi's trunk torn a 2 X 3 inch gash on the front of the suitcase. We tried to ask at the airline reservation desk to get some tape but they didn't have any. So we ended up loading the suitcase with a hole on the plane, hoping it wouldn't get wet. Luckily, it didn't but we sure could have used some duct tape!

I am from Texas and we have a thing called southern ingenuity. This is where you can use duct tape and bailing wire (the wire used to hold a bail of hay together ) to fix ANYTHING! however, the wire might poke holes in your clothes, so maybe that is why its not includedon the list??
