I read in the unofficial guide about wrapping duct tape around your feet to prevent blisters.. OMG has anyone ever tried this?!?:scared1:

Sounds really extreme.

You wont have to worry about blisters because when you remove the duct tape you'll remove all the blisters along with your skin! :rotfl2:

:lmao:

I don't know about that one!! LOL How about a good pair of socks and comfy shoes? that always works for me..:rotfl2:

That sounds painful... I have never read the unofficial guide but I hear some crazy things about what they say in there... Try moleskin and perhaps spraying your feet with deodorant.

OMG! Are you sure they weren't joking.
Can you imagine trying to take all that tape off your feet after a long hot day of touring :scared:

Yes I have done this... Not at WDW though. I backpack multiple times each month and I have used Duct Tape many times when Moleskins were depleted and it works well.

MIL used regular tape to cover a blister since she didn't have bandaid. We laughed about it, thinking it was strange, but it worked.

Yeah.. they weren't kidding! It said that the people who tour the parks and write reviews do it all the time.. also not recommended for children!!

I read that too. Moleskin worked for me. I wouldn't go without it and it is already in our Disney box for our February trip. :thumbsup2

:scared1: Oh my goodness - the thought of wrapping my feet in duct tape makes my skin hurt !

It doesn't hurt at all.. I was playing around one night and ended up wrapping duct tape around both of my feet. (Don't ask, please.)

It barely stuck to my feet at all.

Oh, come on! You can't post something like that and not tell us to ask, can you?!?!? That's mean!

:rotfl:

No they were not kidding....many of the guys in my DH's unit (ARMY) tape their feet before they do their 12 mile ruck marches (they get blister that take 6-8 inches of skin off their feet) So...it is a very common thing to do.

OP- I would not do that! I have used duct tape in beauty pagents as a 19+ year old and that is never good! I cannot imagine with sweating feet...UUGGHH! Use mole skin, instead...I use that everytime I go running and I have a blister from new shoes or whatever and it allows me to run 5-6 miles at a time with bad blisters with no pain...do mole skin for sure!

On a random note, duct tape also works well for removing warts. There is something in the adhesive. :confused3 My DS had a cluster of tiny warts on his elbow, I applied the duct tape, on the advice of one of our docs, for about 5 nights and viola, they shrank and finally disappeared.

Bodyglide, buy some Bodyglide and smear it on your feet,it works for everywhere on the body!!!

The Unofficial Guide recommends the moleskin and socks that suck the sweat off your feet. It mentions that some people suggested duck tape and that when they tried it - it worked well for them. They also say that if you have any questions that you should consult your doctor...or your plumber. (I thought that was funny.)

I don't use duck tape. I don't use anything but a tegaderm (think: sticky saran wrap - if you've had an IV recently, they most likely secured it with a tegaderm) on the back of my foot.

But I have a friend who uses duck tape and swears by it!

To each his own. :)
