DU reservations

Yet ANOTHER client waiting on Tracey. And mildly peeved, I must say. Oh well. :confused3

I am waiting for tracy too. Asked for two cat 9 on west bound . I had transferred my reservation to du from an onboard booking . I checked the DCL site around 2 and used my old reservation number. I found out I got a cat 9 cabin 2056 but no price . I had asked for room 2102 and first seating. DCL has me assigned to second seating which is an issue. So waiting for the rest of the details.
 
I went online this morning and got 3 quotes for the EB repo, however unfortunately I did not book since I knew that DU was doing that for me and giving me the 300.00 per room credit. I just received an email from DU stating that the cruise was all sold out since this morning at 9:30 and I just heard from Carolyn at 7:00pm. I will never use them again and will make sure everyone I know does not get burned.
 

I sent Tracy an email a few hrs ago...Here is her response.

"I can tell you I got the reservation, but it will be a while before I get to quoting it. (I'm currently still on the phone making other reservations). "

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry!!! There will be cancellations...Keep checking online. Can you somehow get waitlisted? I guess deposits are due Sat. so there will be more cancellations.

I heard from mine, Cathy this morning ~ 11:30 and she was still on the telephone doing everyone else's reservations. She shot me a very quick/short "you got what you want" email. The DU system didn't show the change until 5 or so.

This is the letter I got from DU. And yes there may be cancellations however the prices will be much higher than I received this morning from Disney.

I am writing to you from Dreams Unlimited Travel.



Unfortunately, the August 2008 repositioning cruise is currently listed as sold out.



All of our agents have been working diligently on the telephones since early this morning. They have been reporting having difficulty finding availability beginning at 9:30 am on the morning of January 31st.



Our management has spoken with a representative from Disney Cruise Line who has suggested that there will be a good possibility of stateroom availability opening after the initial deposit requirements have passed. There will be many people that do not pay their deposit as well as many that have double booked reservations.



While this circumstance is beyond our control, I would like to offer our apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment.



For those people that booked on 1/31/07, the window of opportunity in which to make a deposit on the August repo cruise ends at the end of business on February 3rd. We will try to book this sailing for you beginning Sunday , February 4th. We will send a price quote just as soon as availability opens.



If this is not something that interests you, please just let me know.



Again, while this was beyond our control, I apologize for any inconvenience.

I got my quote just a little bit ago...but it was for the wrong catagory, and the wrong dinner seating....:( (wanted a 6, they booked a 5 which is way too expensive for us at $8,404.48 with insurence for 2 adults.....(east bound repo)

I feel bad, but I got online and booked myself through DCL this morning because I was concerend DU wasn't going to come through, which I'm glad I did....

I'm considering transfering that reservation over to DU to get the onboard credit but I'm not sure.....
 
My communication with Tracy at DU has been top notch. She specifically stated in her email on 1/29 that she would probably not be able to contact us until the evening:

I anticipate being on the phone much of the day on January 31 to book these cruises for you and other clients. Once I get through to Disney Cruise Lines I will remain on the line until all reservations are made. As a result, I will not be updating the quotes until all the reservations are placed. If you gave me a special request (such as a dollar limit, etc.) and I am not able to obtain your request, I will notify you by email promptly.

Because I will be busy working to get everyone the best price possible, I may not be able to answer your emails or questions right away. I appreciate your patience. If you are waiting on a 2008 quote from me, please know that I do not anticipate getting quotes out to you until later in the evening on Wednesday.

From what I understand, she and many other DU agents have been on the phone most of the day...
I am sure they are frustrated also with the process. Let's be fair.
 
Grrrr. Can't transfer reservations at all.

I'm so disappointed. I had a quote for $500 less this morning. I should have just booked it!
 
All of this is just SO unfortunate, especially for those that could have booked online this morning, but didn't because they figured DU would come through.

I was online this morning booking the Christmas '08 cruise and decided to check the WB repo and was able to get a pretty good quote for a cat 10 on deck 7, but I didn't book it, since we decided on Christmas instead.

Anyway, the point is that if people had known that the TAs were going to have so much trouble on the phone, they could have just done it online themselves.

I sure hope that everyone eventually gets what they want at a decent price (even though it looks like that won't happen).
