Another thing - we all know that when we get a quote from an agency they put a hold on that room, essentially it is a reservation until stated otherwise. I too was caught up in the Wednesday frenzy, saw a great rate at 8 am and didn't take it because I had a ta working for me, who got me a higher rate and I had to give up my 10% obd and obc that I had from a dummy date because if I tried to move it I would loose the room. Is that fair to me or the others in the same boat because there were people who booked 4, 5 6 and 10 ressies just so they could get the best possible deal?
Yes, DCL takes a big part of the blame but I think WE all take another part - our society has become one of "me out for myself and forget everyone else" - ultimately we are all losers and that's the real shame.
