I'm a local and often go to DTD for movies, as it's the closest theatre. I always park in the back lot behind Cirque du Soleil, and have never had a problem parking there before, even after construction started...until Friday. My husband and I were meeting a friend to see X-Men. Granted, part of it was my fault. We should have left much earlier than we did. But I didn't realize that my ace in the hole semi-secret parking lot was now almost halfway gone thanks to construction. I circled around twice and couldn't find a spot. Ended up going to the overflow lot near Casting. By the time we parked and walked across the street, the movie had started. Thankfully, they gave us a refund.
We're trying again tomorrow night and plan to leave much earlier. But I think this will be my last time going to the movies there until construction finishes. It's just too stressful and I can't leave my house 2 hours before a movie starts. I'll just have to go to The Loop instead.
