Do any of the DTD Hotels offer EMH? I was onsite Christmas 2005 and I used the EMH. I can live without the dining plan, but I'm going at Christmastime again and am looking for a bargain price hotel, but NEED the EMH.

I did the value route twice, Oct 2001 and Christmas 2005, and will never do it again! I don't mind paying $$ for comfort, i.e. $149-$179. I love Disney, but the price of hotels is a crime. Example: I just stayed at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal, which is said to be nicer/better than the Poly, from 12/16 to 12/23 for $149 (1/2 the price of the Poly) Then we went to Nick, had a 2bedroom kidsuite from 12/23-12/25 for $169 for the first two nights and the 3rd night free, total for 3 nights at holiday season, with tax was $380.

WDW charges what the public will bear. agree about the Polyn. As much as I love that place - I can't afford any more. Unless use my DVC points and that is not happening...;)

they still manage to have between 70 and 90% occupancy - however the rest of the Orlando and Kissimmee don't. so you can still get a bargin.

however that say - saying on WDW property or Hilton (which is generally not cheap) are your only two choices for EMH.

when exactly are you going?

have you considering renting points from a DVC member?

I think Hilton is the one as well. Have you thought about renting from a DVC owner? It's a lot cheaper but you need to book now.

I'm planning to go for Christmas for 2 weeks. I went during Christmas 2005 and due to the crowds, the EMHs became very important. I did the dining plan and it was great, but I'm willing to give that up; however, EMH is non-negotiable.

give exact dates - but if they include christmas - forget getting a bargain anywhere - that is holiday season the most expensive there is.

DVC resorts are WDW resorts and have all the benefits of a WDW resorts. including EMH, DME, WDW transportation, etc.

While The Hilton offers EMH, the Doubletree does not, even tho it is a Hilton hotel. And I think the Hilton has cheaper rates than the Doubletree!

Yes, Hilton does offer EMH as of right now.

Disney charges the hotels for the privledge of participation in EMH. Currently only the Hilton pays.

what does that do to the guest's booking price? does it increase it any or does it stay the same as the advertised price?
