HI. I hope someone can help me. We are staying at the DTD Hilton the second week of Dec.I'm sure the busses from the Hilton will be running on a limited schedule because of slow time of year. Can we go over to DTD and pick up the Disney busses to the parks? Which stop is closest ? TIA:)

the DD disney buses no longer go to the parks - too many people did what you are suggesting - so you need to take a bus to a WDW hotel -

MK - that you pick a MK resort - Poly, COnt, Gf are all on the monrail

Epcot/Studios - BC/YC, D/S, BW - you get into Epcot by the International gateway - these are also the resorts for the Studios - you can walk or take the boat to the parks

AK - then AKL or the All stars resort

sorry but WDW transportation got tire of off-site buses dropping their guest off at DD and then telling them to take WDW transportation - so now you need to go to a WDW resort before you can go to a park... although this might be a quicker route than waiting for the DD bus-since all the DD resorts share a bus...

I think too - this is probably good marketing - off-site guests now have to see a WDW resort and I think they are hoping that next year these guest will stay on-site...

Hi there! I've used the Downtown Disney transportation in the off-season, and have never had a problem with it. It runs every half-hour or so.

My friend and I were staying at Courtyard in Downtown Disney (which is right next to the Hilton) We decided to check out Port Orleans and take the boat to Downtown Disney and walk back to the hotel, so we waited for a bus from MGM. This was WELL before Park closing. Probably 2 or 3 hours before. We saw 2 of the Downtown Disney hotel busses come and go before we caught Disney transportation to Port Orleans.

My point is...before you decide to try and take Disney transportation, give the hotel shuttle a try. If it doesn't work out for you, then plot another route.

Good luck!

It would seem to me that by the time you walk to DTD (which I know it doesn't take long but still), catch a bus to a resort and then get transportation from that resort to the park you want to go to you could have just caught the DTD resorts bus and already been at the park without all the extra steps. Yes, they all share a bus but they do run every half hour as SnackyStacky said and the Hilton is the first stop for the DTD bus.

You're right Michelle.

I don't remember why, but we also did the reverse. We were shopping at Downtown Disney, but we all of sudden just decided we wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom. We caught a bus to the contemporary, and then took the monorail to the magic kingdom. It was an excruciatingly long process.

On the other hand, we had a PHENOMENAL time checking out the Contemporary. DEFINITELY on my list of places to stay, but I'm not too sure about my other half. :)

we stayed at another dtd resort. they all share busses to the parks and hopping a resort bud there isnt as cool as it might seem. I really really suggest you rent a car.
