DTD Bus Stops

Is there only the one bus stop at the end of the Marketplace, or is there one on the west side too, near Disney Quest?

There is a stop between Pleasure Island and the West Side.

Marketplace or Pleasure Island would be the best place for you to wait for a Disney Transport bus. Somtimes after people got on from Pleasure Island the buses were to full with guests, it did not even stop at West Side to drop guests off or to let new guests on.

Is the bus station down past Cirque du Soleil back in service?

In the 2004 timeframe it was relegated to "future use" status.

Last couple of times I was there, the bus stop near Cirque was still out of comission.

It was probably shut down because it was rarely used, and it was rarely used probably because it was far away from the Cirque building and had no shade.

There is plenty of land for more stuff down by Cirque' that would have justified using that stop, once called Westside. Except they decided to butcher Pleasure Island and put the new stuff (like Raglan Road) there so the unused bus stop remains a white elephant.

The demise of that stop could well have been a self fulfilling prophecy if it was shunned due to service visible from that point being spotty in turn due to buses filling up prior to arriving there and no ad hoc extra service added just for those occasions.

Long Range plans are for there to be only one stop at Downtown Disney to be located near the World of Disney Store and McDonalds area, but like those plans could change as nothing as been officially announce at this point in time.

The West Side bus stop likely will never be reopen under the current Disney Management which why Disney is considering having only one stop at Downtown Disney in the Future.

As of a few weeks ago the West Side stop was still closed.

Just curious what is your source on Downtown Disney only having one bus station?
