Hi,

Thinking of booking Drury Hotel Orlando Disney Springs area as we like some of the benefits it offers but i see the bus transportation is less frequent to and from the parks and share pick ups with other parks like magic kingdom and epcot share pick ups.

My question is does anyone know of any nearby Disney official hotels who's buses i can use instead and then walk to and from the Drury? A bit like when previously stayed at the Swan hotel and we used the Boardwalk Hotel buses from the parks from time to time.

You might get more replies if you post your question on the Orlando Area Hotels board

The neighbor hotels all have limited bus transportation, you will get nothing close to WDW bus times. Also, a lot of the neighbor hotels you need to make a reservation for their bus. I believe the Hilton is hourly or close to it.

Yeah I see they more limited but Dury say you don’t need to make reservations.

Just didn’t know if their was a nearby non good neighbour hotel that is an official Disney hotel who’s buses can use instead to walk to and from the Dury hotel ?

No. There is not a nearby non good neighbor hotel that is an official Disney hotel who’s buses you can use instead to walk to and from the Dury hotel in Disney Springs.

Do you think it’s fair to take seats on another hotel’s bus? Last year after MVMCP, I was staying at Boardwalk, at closing there was a long line at the bus stop. I got on but was standing in the back. Quite a few didn’t get on. When exiting at Boardwalk, half the people were walking over towards the Swan/Dolphin. It’s not fair to people paying to stay at Boardwalk. Swan/Dolphin is not paying Disney for bus service for their guests anymore, they have their own. Sorry but it’s a pet peeve of mine.

I can certainly understand your feelings on the matter, but Disney does allow this to happen, because, realistically, how are they going to stop it? Would you need to scan your Magic Band/Room Key/MDE App to board the bus? The last time I can think of when Disney had a similar policy was when you needed to present your room key (I think that's what it was) to access the resort monorail platforms. But I think that policy went out before the Grand Floridian was built.

As someone who frequently stays at BWV and has to share crowded buses with those S/D guests too, I'm afraid I have to agree with you. It would be difficult to exclude S/D guests from other guests who are using the BW bus to eat at one of the restaurants on the BW, enjoy evening entertainment there, or even to enter Epcot via the IG to watch the fireworks, all reasonable reasons to ride that bus.

I have nothing against guests using the bus to eat at Boardwalk or other activities. But I doubt that was happening at 12:30am. They were just taking advantage of Boardwalk hotel guests. Think of the ones who couldn’t get on the bus and had to wait for the next one, well past midnight. You know that the Swan/Dolphin bus is at the TTC when you book it. Just like the original poster knows Drury’s bus schedule and is looking to take advantage of another hotel. Getting away with it doesn’t make it right.

I agree, but I also agree it would be difficult to police.

Debbie, I agree with you! I love the Boardwalk, but once I heard that S&D would no longer be part of the Disney transportation, I figured the scene that you described would happen, and haven't booked since. Disney charges too much to stay at Boardwalk, to not offer their guests priority access to the transportation.
