patti, i think the reason people blow smoke and leave crap outside your dorm is because they feel like you're talking down to them with the whole "chem free" thing. if you never said anything about it, i'm sure they wouldn't do that. just like the whole "straight edge." you don't have to be in the group to not drink or do drugs. i've never drank or done drugs, but i'm not about to call myself "straight edge." i just think its ridiculous.

definitely not everyone who smokes pot is an idiot, to me it's the people who smoke every single day rendering themselves incapable of functioning as a normal person who are the "idiots".
i know some people think it's never acceptable, but just as they can't see my POV, i can't really see theirs either. to me, if you're not hurting anyone i really don't see a problem.

so the correct wording would be something like
catholics are silly, i don't need a church or a movement to have faith in god

or insert any other christian sub-unit instead of catholic

christian just means you identify with the christian god and jesus
being christian itself wouldn't be the movement.

It's more of a choice. I know there are people out there who go in to learn something, but it's been my experience the people going in right after high school are naive about what going in acutally means. They think it's going to be an adrenaline rush. The people I know who are in college and doing ROTC (which, by the way is a great way to pay for your college education) are much more mature about it, especially after their first year.

So, I think ROTC should be mandatory for anybody going in. Give them a college education so they can do something with their lives after they get out.

Excuse me real fast but that really ticked me off.Most people DO NOT go in right after high for an "adrenaline rush".Also if everyone was required to do ROTC then nothing in the military would get done because we would have a bunch of lazy officers walking around.

Oh and one more thing everyone that joins the military gets 100% of their college paid for.90% hold a college degree,25% have a masters degree,and 5% have a doctors degree.People in the military are some of the most intelligent people in the world.

ROTC=lazy? I don't get it. the kids here in ROTC are active, engaged, and ready. They get up at 5am for drills and then manage a full course load. To me, that's the opposite of "lazy".

Not everybody who smokes pot is an idiot, a loser, and a waste. Their are plenty of people who do it just to relax, have a good time, whatever their reasoning. I think the idiots are the ones that smoke constantly, brag about it, do harder drugs, ect.

I never said that everyone who does is a loser, clearly that is not true. Just in MY own PERSONAL experience.

Yes! I guess those are the only people I know who smoke pot. I'm sure I know people who do but I don't know they do because they can be a productive person. KWIM? People who drink and smoke away their sorrows day after day are the ones who really stand out as just being losers.

Pot isn't any worse than alcohol. I can understand why people want to do it (relax, forget about things for a while). Same thing with alcohol. I just choose not to use things like that to relax. If I want to indulge I have a coke (the soda!!). That certainly isn't good for me but I love it. Everyone has a vice. When their vice becomes a daily thing that consumes them is when it becomes an issue.

It's the officer's that are lazy.That's the opinion held in the ranks and I don't think I ever saw an officer do the job they were ever givien they always delegated.As far as 5am for them waking up for drills try 3am for the privates and nco's doing drills.
