Addiction is tough to beat. I have a friend whose daughter is a heroin addict. She's been in and out of rehab. She lost parental rights to her young daughter. I talked to her about 3 years ago, she talked about her dream of getting her daughter back. She got some visitation rights but blew it. Today her daughter has a new mom (baby daddy's new wife). It has cost her dearly but she can't kick it.

I'm not saying they should keep using drugs and get their food stamps. There has to be some form of treatment program. You can't just cut them off and leave them hungry on the street. That's why crime is so bad, a lot traces back to drugs. I don't know what the answer is but I don't think just cutting them off from assistance will work.

Not just that. When you are a franchisee you have the corporation overseeing everything. You would think that someone would notice that the hotel is running on no employees if they're all off the books. And if they're being paid under the table the franchise would have large amounts of money which is unaccounted for and missing.

go look up the programs for new York state welfare. they have lots of programs to get people back on their feet. we even have programs that will help people buy their first home with help from the state it's called rupco.

That's different from welfare or food stamps. Given that you are claiming these programs exist, you should be providing links - not telling people to look it up.

According to this article, in 2012 the New York Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional to require teachers to be drug tested unless there is a reasonable suspicion that the teacher is using drugs. Hopefully your district does not think you are a possible drug user since that is the only way they can do a drug test. Has this been reported to your union that your school is illegally requiring drug tests?

We shouldn't give food stamps, we should give food. A block of Velveeta, a pound of bologna, a loaf of bread and a whole chicken. Throw in some basic spices and condiments. You show up, you get food - no questions asked and certainly no drug test.
