Oy.. I'm usually so good at making plans. The new hours at Animal Kingdom and now Disney Springs being a worthy spot to go at night and during the day has really thrown a wrench in my planning.

Right now, the plan is this:

12/24: Arrive at BC, grab a small lunch at BW Bakery, explore the BW, BC, YC, S&D decorations, dinner at Il Mulino and dessert at Ample Hills.

12/25: Wake up EARLY. Rope Drop morning EMH at MK, leave by 2pm; Head to Grand Floridian for dinner at Narcoossee's and Wishes.

12/26: Sleep in. Head to Disney Springs for lunch at D-Lux burger; Back to BC, then EPCOT for the night. Dinner at R&C, Illuminations, FP+ for Frozen, Characters and Spaceship Earth

12/27: Breakfast at Kona; Dinner at Yak & Yeti, FP+ for Expedition Everest and the Safari. Enjoy Animal Kingdom after dark (the tree, etc.) This could be a possible night to head to DS, but I feel like we'd be spreading ourselves too thin.

12/28: Head to Gaylord Palms in the afternoon. Dinner at 'Ohana. MK at night.

12/29: Sleep in a little. Eat around the World at EPCOT. Split a pizza at Via Napoli; Boat to DHS, FP+ for TSMM, ToT, Star Tours; JBJB Dessert Party

12/30: DHS in the morning; MK at night

12/31: Breakfast at WPE at DS; Come back, pack, Best case scenario: spend time at the pool; Dinner at Yachtsman; EPCOT for NYE

1/1: Check out; EPCOT for lunch; Leave :(

Obviously, our schedule is jam packed, at least at night. I really wish I could switch 12/26 and 12/27 around seeing as there is EMH at EPCOT, but I wouldn't dare play around with my Frozen FP+. We're spending two half days at DS. I'd love to get there at night for the drone show, but it'd be overkill at this point. And, I don't know when we'd be able to get there. I feel kinda bad because I'm really intrigued by the idea of the drones. Do we need to see it? Do you see anywhere we could work around this or fit it in?

We saw the drone show a few weeks ago. The drone show was cute and there was also a DJ that a lot of the kids seemed to be enjoying but I personally don't think it's worth upending any plans over.

It's unique but quite short so hard to say it's worth a special trip. There are a few things at DS at night
The only thing that jumps out at me is if you can maybe alter things on 12/24 and try to get over there (assuming they keep to the same schedule on Christmas Eve)
Though much would depend on your dinner time. Ample Hills would likely fit in there somewhere but maybe not after dinner.

I thought about that, but after a 6:40am flight on 12/24 and waking up early on 12/25, we'll probably go to bed at like 10.

It was OK, but not a must see. If you are already in Disney Springs at the right time then by all means watch it, but you aren't missing a lot if you don't see it. I would not turn your plans upside down. It is kind of neat, but the technology is still a few years away from must see kind of events. You spend a lot of time asking each other what they think the formation is.

Ah, yes. Travel day wake up time is sure a deciding factor. We left on a 5:45 flight a couple weeks ago so I get it

Drone show was definetly not worth a special trip to DS for IMO.

I think its worth it simply because its a new type of technology never seen before. That's the general consensus of most bloggers and people you talk to.Its really short, like 4 minutes long but Disney Springs has a ton of new things to check out and has become really popular so I would say a trip to DS is worth it with the drone show being one of the more unique things to see.
