We have stayed at POR the last two years. This year it is All Star Music. While we haven't had any huge issues with the buses, this year were planning on renting a car and driving to the parks. The expense is not an issue. But does it take long to be trollied back to your car? Is parking free at the parks if you stay at resort? I think having a car would be better because then I can commute to nearby grocery/restuarants and Super Target for sundries and party favors. Can anyone provide some pro's/cons to this?

Hey Kitzer

:welcome:

to the DIS - we are glad you found us.

I'm going to move this question over to the transportation board

We stayed at an All Stars resort for a couple days and also at POFQ and we drove every day to the parks. It is free to park if you are a resort guest so you don't pay for it (just keep your resort tag in the window). We didn't have any problems parking. It took about 20 minutes to get to the parks doing it that way (after parking, waiting for little trolley thing, getting up and getting in gate etc.) and slightly longer coming back depending on the crowds (if it was the end of the day MUCH longer). All in all I prefered to drive my own car instead of take the buses. I like to be in control of the situation more though and I also liked not having to squeeze into a bus full of people.

Thanks Crnflkgrl. I agree with the not cramming onto a crowded bus. Even if I have to sit in a line of cars leaving the park at closing time, at least every one has a seat, a cold drink, air conditioning, etc. etc.. last year there were several occasions when we would wait for 2-3 buses because they would almost be full when they reached us. Don't get me wrong, I think the buses are a great perk but we just want to be able to roll when we want to roll. Congrats on your upcoming June arrival. "Shorties" give life a whole new meaning!
