HEllo all,

I can't tell you how all of you have helped plan our trip in DEC.

Now, I have another question for you all knowing people! :D

My DH's niece lives in Savannah, we will be there for Christmas.
Does anyone know of a decent hotel/suite in the area.

I called Savannah Suites, but they said we would need to be there early on Dec 24, because they would be closing early.

My DH said no way! He wants to spend as much time as possible at WDW. I don't blame him, I do too!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks...

Ahhh...Savannah is a beautiful city! I stayed at the Days Inn Suites on Bay Street this past August. The suites part of the complex is over 100 years old and quite lovely. The suites are roomy and clean and face the Savannah River which is quite beautiful. The location is one block from River St. and backs up to The City Marketplace and is within walking distace of the entire historic area. Across the street is the Hyatt....gorgeous resort type hotel on the river...more expensive than the Days Suites and much "fancier". I have stayed here too and it is awesome. Hope this helps! Have a great trip!!

I have stayed at the Hyatt and the Marriot, both right on the water but they were for conferences so I wasn't paying. As Dream said, the Days Inn is very nice...last conference I attended one of the colleges opted to stay there and said it was very nice for much less.

Thanks,
I will check into it. I did check the Hyatt and they are full for the day before and after Christmas. Good thing...quite expensive!

Get your niece to recommend some places. She'll know what's close to her and may know of a bed & breakfast or something neat like that - much more "Savannah" feeling.

DisneyDebbie,
She did rec. Savannah Suites, but they are the ones that are closing early on Dec 24. We want to spend as much time at WDW as possible. The person I spoke to said we would need to be there around lunch time.
So, my husband said forget that one!

She also rec. a Days Inn. We have to be careful where we stay, though. There are five of us. The Days Inn I called said they could not take us, because there are five. I inquired about a second room, and there are none available.

We are having a hard time finding something.
Maybe I should call AAA.

Thanks...

There is a Days Inn at the I-95/204 Gateway that I am considering for our drive down and back in December. It has a AAA rating of 3-diamonds and is only $48 a night. If that is the one you looked at that had a 4 person limit, even two rooms (which we have to have) is a pretty good deal!

Better watch out for those bed and breakfasts in Savannah...you may get more than you bargain for! Savannah has just been voted the most haunted city in America!!!;)

Make sure you eat at - Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House, the best place for home cooked Southern food.

Thanks guys!

We are planning on a ghost tour! Can't wait for that!

We will check into the boarding house for dinner!
