I'm leaving southern NJ/Philly area around 10:00 PM on friday night. I plan on taking 95, and stopping only for gas. Can anyone give me insight on where I'll be around 7 AM? I figure I'll be doing around 70 - 75 MPH, with no traffic issues at that late hour.

We are driving straight thru to the Tampa area to pick up my parents, then onto WDW later in the week. :cool1:

Thanks!:)

I have done the drive from central NJ several times. It seems to me you should be in southern SC of northern GA in 10 hours.

We have done your same trip many times, I would say you would be maybe 30 from
Savannah. (South bound) I always figure 7.5 hrs to SoB, We just came home last week in 15.5 hours and didnt push it ! always faster for some reason comming home :confused3 We live 20min. from DMB.

I was going to say southern South Carolina. Hope you hit no traffic - once on my drive from Florida to NJ, I hit stop-and-go traffic at like 1:00 am on I95 in Virginia, from construction they only do at night. Three lanes went down to one, and it took over an hour of crawling to get through it to finally be moving at speed limit again. How frustrating to be stuck in that at that hour. :headache:

Have fun on the trip!

That's a good point. They have been "constructing" something or other in the I-95 vicinity of DC/MD/VA for what seems like 100 years. Entire generations of families have gotten work on these projacts.

Kidding of course, but do check on construction.

We drove to FL a few times when I was a kid and back then we lived in the Phila area. We would leave about 6am and always made it to the bottom of S.C or top of GA by 6pm. So that is 12 hours.. We would stop only for a few bathroom/get gas breaks and then once for food-drinks etc (which we ate in the car)

But that is based on my father driving who would never exceed the speed limit..

One piece of advice.. Don't speed through VA.. Lots and Lots of state troopers along 95.

We have done this in the past but left Bucks Co between 8-9 and have been to getting off 95 for Hilton Head around 8am. Doing same thing stop for gas and a quick snack or something.

We are driving to WDW in April and planning on leaving between 8-9 Friday night and hope to arrive at OKW mid afternoon Saturday. We were going to stop at HHI for the night, but changed our minds today and deicded to go straight to WDW.

It takes me about 17 hours on a good trip to get from CT to WDW. On a bad day the longest I have driven was 20 hours due to traffic and construction.
If You leave NJ at 10 pm you will probably be in FL by 7 am, that is 17 hours.
The speed limit is about 70 from just about VA on to FL with a few slow areas where you hit a big city, but later at night I see most people stay at around 70 through there (at your own risk of course).
From NJ to VA the speed limit is 55 so I usually go about 10 mph over that, or sometimes I keep up with traffic, just staying behind so "THEY" will get caught and I can slow down. (70 and ^)
I stop for gas and we have to go to the bathroom and get food and snacks at that time. I don't stop for extra bathroom breaks or food, and have never had complaints but my boys were good at holding. I was a nurse so I know how to hold for a 12 hour shift.
