debating between GW bridge
and tapen zee bridge

At midnight take the GW you'll save a few miles and a bit of time. Listen to 880 AM or 1010 AM when you get past Stamford and they have the traffic reports every 10 Mins if you hear the GW is backed up more than 10 mins then take the TZ. Also take the lower level no trucks so it's always a bit quicker. I drive to Acton quite often so I would also recommend taking 91 S in Hartford to CT 15 (west cross /meritt pkwy in NY it become the Hutchison River Pkwy) to 87 S to 95 it save some miles at 30 mins off the trip at off hours when I usually make the trip and no trucks while on the parkways

The Tappan Zee bridge usually does construction at night. Sometimes they only have 2 lanes open! Take the GW. At that time you should be fine.
