We are renting a home in Indian Creek this October. Can anyone give me short cuts or pointers for driving from this area to Disney Parks and Downtown Disney? How about the nearest superstore like Walmart or Target w/ a grocery attached?

Thanks so much!
Cari

When you leave Indian Creek head up (north) Formosa Gardens Blvd to 192. Turn right on to 192 and then take a left at the next set of lights on to Sherberth Rd. At the first set of lights turn right (turning left will take you to AK Lodge) and you'll be on Osceola Parkway and across from Animal Kingdom. Follow the signs to the rest of the parks. When you come back follow the signs for AK Lodge and when you get back to the Sherberth Rd intersection turn left and then right at the 192 intersection and go to the next set of lights and turn left onto Formosa Gardens Blvd and follow it to Indian Creek.
You can also turn right on 192 from FG Blvd and go past the Sherberth intersection and take the main Disney exit for World Drive but Sherberth is quicker from IC.
For shopping:At the intersection of FG Blvd and 192 on the left there's a shopping center with a Market Place supermarket ( Winn Dixie ) Outback Steakhouse, Chinese, Giordano's pizza etc. It's about 2 min from ICreek.
If you turn left on to 192 (heading west) there's a Publix supermarket a couple of miles on your right by Orange Lake. If you keep going on 192 and take the exit for 27 north ( about 4 miles) there's a Super Walmart just off 27 on the right in back of Long John Silvers.
There's also lots of restaurants, shops, Walgreens Pharm. etc all along 192 in both directions.
The other Walmart is east on 192 then north on 535 near Lake Buena Vista Outlets and Super Target is east on 192 down around mile marker 12. They would take longer ( 15 - 20 min )to get to because the traffic is worse in that area. :)

Hi, great summary from Sympatico. We stay 3 months at Indian Ridge which is just east of Indian Creek a mile or so off Old Lake Wilson which parallels Formosa Gardens.
FG Blvd. becomes Sand Hill Road after the stop sign at Funie Steed and just before you get to Indian Creek.
For food shopping and a real neat easier drive we will turn RIGHT OR SOUTH out of Indian Creek and head south past Mystic Dunes golf on your left. Just past the golf course you will turn LEFT at stop sign with a viaduct on the right. Take this past Indian Ridge homes on right. At the next stop sign turn right on Old Lake Wilson...Now the fun starts...

You will go right by Reunion, which is one of the largest and most expensive housing developements in Florida. You will see 3 signature golf courses from Nicklaus, Palmer and Watson, and Condos that start at about 1/2 mil and homes that start at just under a mil.

When you get past Reunion you will see a CV Pharmacy and stop light...turn RIGHT and go straight into Champions Gate, which has two Greg Norman courses and is very high end and fun to see. Just past he big gates is a strip mall on the right with Publix that is not so crowded and some small business' and restaurants.

We like going there because you stay off 192 and see some pretty fancy real estate.

In October Disney should be medium pace...But if 192 is really busy, I have suggested people in Indian Ridge or Indian Creek go south on Sand Hill and instead of turning left at the viaduct go straight about 1/2 mile and pick up the brand new 429 interstate NORTH...it will take you to the brand new also Disney entrance off 429...absolutely NO traffic and really slick...it will cost about .25 cents each way, but well worth it especially at very busy times. Kind of interested in what the old pros think about all the new highway options south of Disney???
