We will be driving from Kyle,TX to Disney in June. It will be our first trip ever!
I'm looking for any advice as well as where a good stopping point would be. I'm wanting to do most of the driving the first day so the next day is easier :) I was thinking maybe around Pensacola. Any good hotels around there?
Thanks!!

We are leaving TODAY from Round Rock, but have family in Beaumont, so we always include a stop there overnight as a jump on the long day.

But here is our treck: Round Rock to Beaumont, Friday evening.
Beaumont to Tallahassee Saturday
Tallahassee to Orlando Sunday morning.

there is a tollroad in florida towards the end of the treck, so bring $3-5 in change (TexTag doesn't have a contract to be accepted there)

If you have kids and they need places to stop and stretch legs, I strongly suggest hitting the Welcome Centers across each state line and especially the one in the middle of Louisiana in the middle of the Atchfala swamp bridge. Things to look at while everyone uses the restrooms.

So I can't recommend a hotel in Pennsecola, but then DW gets a Texas State employee rate at La Quintas across the country so we tend to just go with those for the savings.

Thanks so much!! This is super helpful :) We have 4 kids ages 4,5,7 and 9 so I'm sure we will have to make plenty of stops.
Hope y'all have an amazing trip!!
