You won't be able to get anywhere near the coastline.
You won't know the condition of your own home and how soon you will be able to return.
You will run into states with a "state of emergency" along the coastline, which means you will be turned away at the state line by National Guard.
You will run into places where there are severe power outages, which means restaurants will not be able to serve people and gas stations will not be able to pump gas.
While the storm seems to have subsided somewhat, it is still a big storm the likes none of us have ever seen on the east coast in our lifetime.
Your only bet is to travel far from the coastline and back towards Florida.
Good luck.
