Driving from MCO to VB

Wondering what is the best route to VB from MCO... Disney directions take you to the Beeline, then to I 95. Is it easier or faster to take the Fla Turnpike?? Appreciate any suggestions - thanks in advance

We do the Beeline to I-95 route. It should take about an hour from the airport...maybe an hour & 15 minutes.

Turnpike is an alternate route if you are coming from WDW resort area.From the AirportIMHO Beeline to 95 is best.There is a little cutting of the corner by a few exits of 95 by taking the Beeline to 520 to 95 but 520 is a 2 lane most of the way and if you get caught behind some slow movers, it can negate the time saved.

The only drawback to the Turnpike is taking State Road 60 into Vero. This is a two-lane road that is quite busy with trucks. It is surrounded by ranch/farm land with a trench along the side. It's okay in good weather but I wouldn't necessarily want to be on there in a thunderstorm.

In addition to the Turnpike drawback of the stretch along State Road 60, there is the toll on the Turnpike. I forget the exact amount since I only traveled this way one time (a Sunday in January, so the traffic on SR60 was not a problem at all, actually), but I do recollect thinking that I paid a much higher toll than had been the case when we traveled directly from MCO to VB.

We always go the Beeline to Vero from MCO. Stay in Vero a few days and then take the turnpike to WDW. The state road is very interesting to me, perhaps that is just me, but you get to see the back roads and how people in a rural part of Florida live. However, from MCO, the beeline is the easiest and fastest way to travel.

Many thanks to all -- looks like we'll take the Beeline to I 95. We'll be going to WDW after a few days so, weather permitting, we may take a chance on State Rd 60 to the turnpike and then WDW. Almost time to go and we can't wait -- our first trip to VB. Thanks again,
