Driving for Mobile Orders at Resorts

We are staying on property December 20th for 6 nights and know that we will want to explore other resorts. Will we be able to drive our personal car to other resorts if we place a mobile order or is this only allowed if you have ADRs? We are trying to avoid the buses :)
 
Some people have had luck being able to park at a resort with a mobile order at a quick service location, some have not. Seems to depend on who is at the gate and how busy the resort currently is.
If you are trying to limit your time on busses, you could stick to places with multiple resorts that you could walk to. Like take one bus/drive to HS then walk over to the epcot area resorts or one bus/drive to MK and you can walk to CR, Poly, and GF.
 
Thank you for the response and tip. Now, I wonder what happens to the food if you are turned away at the gate? Do I still have to pay for it even though I do not have reasonable access (take car back to my resort, take bus to a park, then bus to resort with food I ordered possibly hours ago)?
 

I've known a LOT of people who have successfully done it and none that have been turned away but I suppose there is always a risk.

For mobile order, you click "here" when you're close to the restaurant so until then, you can cancel. If on the off chance you were turned away, you would just cancel before your food was even prepared.

I don't think you lose anything by trying, personally. You can always park at the nearest park and walk/skyliner/boat to the hotels if you are turned away for some reason.
 
Always hard to tell since we don’t get a ton of actual real-world reports around the DIS, but I haven’t read a first hand report of being turned away with a mobile order in awhile, FWIW. Seemed like a flurry of reports at first, but not so much anymore.
 
I think it may depend on the resort. When we were staying at the Yacht Club last week, we were immediately asked for our Magicband upon entering the lobby. When we drove to the Wilderness Lodge, I just needed to show that we were picking up a mobile order and we were allowed in the gate. If you aren't allowed in, the food will be discarded (approximately 15 minutes after it's been prepared for your order). If that's the case, let your hotel's front desk know about your situation and they may possibly be able to refund your order, but that's situational.
 
just take disney transportation or walk. problem solved.
