Yeah the dollar store here has a a lot of that stuff right now! Also party city has some stuff too and depending on what your looking for it was cheaper there! Like our lei's were 49 cents each at party city and $1 at $1 store- the cheaper ones are 3/$1 at the $1 store though! How fun this must of been for Damien to share his Disney Movie Night with friends! I love the Tiki idea...going to have to go and search for these at the dollar store! The food sounds yummy, planning to check out some of Ohanas recipes for myself now!
Thank you! I liked them too, although they weren't that great to run in during freeze tagWhat an awesome movie night!!! I love the skirts![]()

It was fun with the friends for the luau and the kids all had a good time, I had a mom meet me in the Bronx Zoo yesterday that saw the pictures on face book and asked when they are getting invited!Love the Lilo and Stitch night, we have one coming up too! What a great idea to invite friends, I may have the kids bring a friend or 2 and make it a luau!
This is the recipe I used- from my Eating well in season cookbook, they have others too that change the veggies, but I thought that this one was pretty good and quick too and the only difference between mine and the recipe was that I sliced the steak into slices before browning- they call for slicing after cooking!Help....I need the recipe for the salad you made for Aladdin night...I am not finding any cous cous recipes that I am falling in love with!
Beef Tataki (serves 4)
Need- 1 cup diced radishes, 1 cup sliced carrots, 1/2 cup thinly sliced yellow or red onion, 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce, 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons finely chopped scallions (plus a little for garnish), 2 teaspoons finely grated ginger, 1 pound boneless sirloin steak (3/4-1 inch thick), 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 2 teaspoons canola oil.
1- Place the radishes, carrot, and onion in a medium bowl. Cover with cold water and let soak for 5 minutes. Drain.
2- Combine soy sauce, lemon juice, scallions, and ginger in a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of the mixture to the vegetables and toss. Set aside the remaining sauce.
3- Season the steak with the salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high (or now you can BBQ if you wanted to do it that way). Cook the steak 3-4 minutes per side (this will make it rare so cook it longer if your family prefers it- that's why I sliced it first!). Let the meat rest on the cutting board for 5-10 minutes, then thinly slice and place over the vegetables. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the meat and finally serve.
I hope that your family likes it! You can always use different vegetables if you want to get creative!
