We're driving from Maryland. Originally, we weren't going to be able to leave until 7:30 PM on Friday evening 11/17 and were planning on driving straight through. Now, my son's karate belt test is being delayed (he'll be too excited to do it that night) so we can leave earlier now. We're thinking about leaving about 2 PM so DH and I can work 1/2 day and we can be out of DC area before rush hour.

We're trying to figure out where a good stop would be that would not leave us driving all day on Saturday before getting to CSR. Any ideas?

Thanks.

How far do you want to go on Friday?

I'm not sure what part of Maryland you are in, but from Fredericksburg, VA (right off I-95) it takes us 9 hrs (with little traffic and stopping for a 1 hr lunch) to get to Savannah, Ga. You can add on your time from MD. From Savannah, I believe it takes us around 4-6 hrs and that includes a 1 hr lunch break to get to WDW. We normally get to WDW around 2-3pm. Brunswick, GA is 1 hr further than Savannah so that would cut off an extra hour on the drive the next day.

Just wanted to mention that traffic tends to start on I-95 around 2-3. Sometimes it's bad and sometimes it's not. But Fridays from 3pm on you're defintely bound to hit something. I had to stop shopping up there during the week because I almost missed my DD getting off the bus at 4pm and I would leave at like 1:30! HTH
