Drive or bus to MK from POFQ?

We will have a rental car and plan on driving to AK, Epcot and DHS.

I'm on the fence about MK since you have to park at the TTC and then take the monorail or a boat. Do you really save any time?

Would you drive or bus it from POFQ?

Also, interested on opinions for a regular MK day and MNSSHP regarding driving or bus.

TIA!

If I'm staying onsite I always take a bus to MK from any non-monorail, non-boat resort. The whole parking-at-the-TTC, riding-a-tram, then-transferring process wastes a lot of time versus just waiting a few minutes for the bus at the resort and being dropped off at the front of MK.

Like you, I prefer driving to the other parks since there is no TTC transfer involved in those.

We plan to go to MNSSHP from POFQ for our upcoming trip and will take the bus.

We just got back from a week at POFQ and the bus service to MK was frequent and very efficient. I would bus over there anytime.

As most regulars on these boards know, we love the WDW transportation. The only place we ever drive from POFQ is AK rarely. We always take the bus to the MK, for the reasons mentioned above.

I would say bus as you get almost right to the gate as opposed to the TTC.

We have stayed at POFQ before and found that the buses were efficient enough that we were glad we didn't hire a car as it would have just sat in the lot for most of the trip.

Thanks everyone!

We like to have a car to make trips to Walmart and we take swim breaks mid-afternoon.

We had a car our last trip and loved the convenience and felt it was quicker to get back and forth than waiting for the bus and walking the entire resort. We stayed at AoA in the LM section which was a bit of a hike.

We had a minivan and it was wonderful to just pick up the stroller and put it in the back without having to get everything out from underneath and fold it and unfold it for the buses.

So, we are sticking with a car for those reasons, but will probably use the bus for MK and the boat for DTD.

Thanks again!

The great thing about POFQ is that it's a small resort so parking close to your room should be fairly easy.
The boat to DTD is one of the other reasons we choose that resort area. It's a lovely way to get there.

Another vote for the bus to the MK.

If we have a car with us we drive to all the other parks. But the parking at the MK and then the tram to ferry/monorail before getting to the MK gates makes it faster to take the bus....ususally.

Unless your car is among the 1st to pull into a MK parking space, odds are you will need to walk to the alley where you can catch a ride on the TRAM. Think of this is as the time to enjoy the weather for there are no shelters. The TRAM cars are open-air too. Think of it as an experience in heavy fumes. Stop go stop go beep beep beep. Get off THEN walk some more to wait in a long line to board the monorail or ferry. Then you get another walk to get bags inspected and another line to tap the MagicBand. This is not at rope drop hours but maybe 11am. WOW need a nap already so turn around and do it backwards before you can get some sleep.

I did the MK lot once; never again. Just want a joy ride on the ferry or monorail? Still take the bus and catch a ride from the MK side of the lake.
