Drive-In Movie Theaters

Yup, we have one near us. It's the Delsea drive in in Vineland. They are still working on remodeling the concession stand but we have a great time when we go.

We have one called The Blue Moonlight. It just reopened last year after being closed almost 25 years. I was so excied to be able to take my ds's so they could enjoy like I did when I was a child :goodvibes We are only about 10 minutes away & the cost is $7 per adult, children 12 & under free for 2 movies. Can't beat that for a family night out :Pinkbounc

We have two to the south of the DFW area; a new one and an old one. Funny but the old one is tons more fun! It's a very friendly place and great for anyone including families. Kids play in front of the single screen before and between movies and lots of people socialize.

There is a great place to get food but you can bring your own too. This weekend they're showing Cars and Nacho Libre and next weekend it'll be the new Pirates movie. :thumbsup2

I had to look online to see if there are any around our new town. There are still some around. We might have to take the kids one of these days. They have never been to one.

We went to them a lot as kids. It was great fun going to the drive-in wearing your PJ's, eating popcorn out of a paper grocery bag, hanging that speaker on your window. I don't know that I ever stayed awake for an entire movie though.

Yes, we have 2 nearby. In fact, we went to the drive-in last night to see Nacho Libre and Click. My boys love hanging out at the drive-in. We go practically every weekend. :teeth:

There's none left on Long Island
We go to Lake George every year, they have one in Glen Falls.
It's pretty old. but for a novelty it's fun.

but my kids didn't feel like staying for 2 movies

I grew up going to the ones in Sommerville New Jersey and Warwick New York. One of my first dates with my dh (way back in the 70's) was at the Warwick Drive in.

We go to the Silver moon drive-in here in Lakeland. You get 2 movies for 3.50 kids 9 and under are free. They use to do carload nights on Thursdays but they don't do that anymore. My kids and I go all the time. The most recent movies were cars and the wild on one screen and Fast and Furious 2 and 3 on the other.

We went all the way out to this drive in a few weekends ago to see Cars. We got within 4 cars of the entrance, and a man with a SOLD OUT sign for Cars appeared :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
Bummed out, we drove all the way back here and ate now cold pizza and popcorn in front of the television. :happytv:

No one's mentioned the one in Memphis.

We went there last night to see Cars and The Wild. It was fun, except the mosquitoes invaded our van and had me for a snack.

I don't know how old it is, but I'm 42 and my parents took me there when I was itty-bitty, so it's OLD. But fun!

The one in our area is called the "Skyview". It's been around forever. My first job was at a movie theater, and the same family owned all of the theaters in town including the drive-in, so I always got in for free as an employee!! Those were the days.

We may have been a few cars behind you! We were ten cars out the saturday night of Opening weekend when the dreaded 'sold out' sign man came out!

http://hullsdrivein.com/ - it closed when I was in college there, then through grassroots efforts, reopened before I graduated.

All of the ones in Spokane have closed, unfortunately. Right now it's the best way for us to see a movie since my son will sleep in the car.....but not anywhere without me.

We still have a drive-in here, but it is slated to be torn down in the very near future. Rumor has it that a Costco will be built in its place.
