Drinks on Castaway Cay

Ok, I know that the servers come out on the sand to serve drinks at CC. I also know that you can bring your refillable mug to castaway Cay to get canned sodas...So, if you are sitting on the beach with your mug will they get you a soda or do you have to walk up and collect it yourself since it is free? Also, can you get bottled water on CC with your mug at no charge?

The bottled water is not available as a refill for the soda mugs. They must be purchased just like the bottled sports drinks that they offer.

All the times I have visited Castaway Cay, they have never offered me canned soda for my mugs. They have always taken the mugs both at the bar and the servers that roam around, and refilled them with the regular soda from the fountain dispensers.

Just a quick note on the refills on Castaway Cay. Has anyone else ever gotten sick (upset stomach) after drinking the soda on Castaway CAy? We had refilled our mugs a few times and my husband and I both had very upset stomachs after. I think it was the soda but, not sure

Sick on Castaway Cay!

This is a surprise. I had a “drink of the day” while at the adult beach. It was in the morning and I had eaten breakfast but I was so sick, I thought I’d die. The pain in my stomach was amazing. It wasn’t upset and I wasn’t tipsy but let me tell you I was VERY SICK. My husband brought me to the ladies room and I sat outside the door in case I had to run in but my stomach was not upset it was burning. The CM selling water nearby came over to check on me. Within a few minutes a doctor appeared to check on me but by then I was starting to feel better. I chalked it up to not enough food in my belly and having a drink but now I’m wondering……

CC even has a CM that comes right into the water with his little blow up boat filled with drinks!!!! Pretty cool!!!

When we were there we showed our KTTW card with a soda sticker on it (we left our mug in the cabin) and were given soda cans. I much prefer cans so was very happy they did this. We did go to the vendor ourselves but it wasn't much of a walk from the beach.

The "soda sticker" on the KTTW card was discontinued quite a long time ago. The refillable mug is the only way to obtain a free refill. The last time I saw the sticker was on my February 2000 cruise.

If I have this straight, the servers who roam the beach will take your refillable mug and refill it for you at no charge?

I think I would have to tip them for there trouble of hiking thru the sand. What would be a good tip for this service? Do you think a $1 would cover it?

Went on the Galley tour. Just want everyone to know that all the food and drink you get on CC is taken off the boat and then reloaded after the day is done. So NOTHING is from CC.

Will have trip report soon. Totally exhausted! Awesome cruise!

Every DIS member we met were soooo nice. It was alot of fun.

The same thing happened to me after drinking a Konk Cooler...the pain in my stomach was SO bad!!!

I had the konk cooler on CC. I tasted it and asked the bartender if she gave me the one with alcohol in it. She just grabbed my drink in one hand and the bottle of rum in the other and added a huge amount of rum to my drink- no extra charge. And, I never got sick

There are CM taking drink orders, but in the family section at least, they don't come by very often. It is sooooo crowded. I had to get our drinks. If they were to bring you a refilled mug I think $1 would be very appropriate.
