I'm sure this has been asked a million times already so sorry!!

What is necessary for the men's attire? Is a jacket necessary, or does a button-down shirt and tie suffice?

My husband (along with MANY) others wears a dress shirt. No tie or jacket, but a dress shirt with collar.
A jacket and tie is not necessary, but can be worn..

I think the requirement for Palo is a dress shirt; jackets and/or ties are not required but recommended. We don't wear jackets, but have a number of fancy western vests that we wear with western ties usually with a wing-tip collared formal shirt or vest and a mandarin-collared shirt (no tie).

A bit more on this site:-

During dinner, gentlemen will be required to wear a dress shirt. Gentlemen wearing polo shirts, t-shirts, Tommy Bahama style shirts, etc will not be allowed admittance. Jackets and/or ties are recommended but not required. Notices will be in the Personal Navigator, on the Palo reservation card and a sign outside the elevators on deck 10 will contain this dress advisory. The Resort Casual dress code for both the brunch and high tea remains unchanged.

A button down shirt and dress pants works fine. Jacket and tie are not needed.

Well personally I'd say it depends on the experience you want to have, but at the minimum a woman should wear something she'd wear to work (business attire, not casual friday) or church. Most dresses are fine...well, unless you're talking denim or something like this ;):

DH just wears a nice button-up shirt and slacks. And he certainly seemed to be the norm rather than the exception.

You know, if I had a body like that, I'd wear a dress like that, and damn the dress code.

Hey if you can carry off HORIZONTAL stripes, go for it! (Of course this girl looks like she's all of 14, so she wouldn't be allowed into Palo anyway...so nanner nanner on her )

what is the dress code for brunch, both male and female?

Cruise casual, no need to dress up.

I just made a new thread..we have a vow renewal booked in the Palo Private dining...VR is @ 5:30..Palo is at 6pm..My DH will be wearing Tommy Bahama linen shirt (the dressy kind..not the printed one) I know we don't have time to change!!

I believe its cruise casual...khakis and button down or polo shirt for men...dress/slacks for women...
