Well it looks like the temps will really swing during the day on our upcomming trip. Highs near 80 and lows under 60......ish.

How do you moms dress your kids on days like that? WIll they complain more in pants or shorts?

We just got back from our Thanksgiving trip, and a couple days were pretty cool in the morning/evening. I have twin toddlers, and only dressed them in pants or jeans, a regular shirt, and in the mornings either a heavy sweater-jacket, or a hooded zippered jacket. That way if it gets warm you can remove the jacket. The hooded jacket came in handy a couple of days when it was really cool and kind of windy. It might even be good to bring light gloves and a cap, although we made do without those. Just think layers, so you can peel off some clothes...I wore a light sweater (I am hot natured), and just tied the sweater around my waist when it got too warm. Hope you have a wonderful trip! :)

Sorry, one other thing. I did pack a pair of shorts for each, and one day my son did wear the shorts (not at the park, just at the hotel and around the pool and after he swam). So, pack a couple pair of shorts. Also, I used the laundry facilities a lot (I brought my own clothing soap and dryer sheets). That way if you need to rewash something you can.

ZIP-OFFs. You know those cool cargo pants that you can zip the bottoms off of to make shorts. These are our winter WDW vacation clothing staple for DS.

He wears them on the plane too, so if it is warm when we arrive in FL, he can zip them off before we deplane, and be good to go.......

Personally, I'm fine in shorts and a sweatshirt or hoodie til it really warms up, but his little legs still get chilly.

I second the zip off's. We even have them in atheltic looking, track type pants from Old Navy. My boys wear them constantly at home, and they are all I'm packing for Disney. I just wish I had some for myself! I figure on the top, we'll layer a t-shirt and sweatshirt or windbreaker.

Ok, now I am concerned after reading all of your inputs. We are leaving in a few days and the forecast highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's-50's. I have packed shorts for everyday and 3 pairs of pants as backups or evenings. Now, we are from upstate NY, so maybe that is affecting my packing. Do you think my boys will be too chilly w/ shorts and a sweatshirt or jacket and then just shorts and a t-shirt for the day. I need a dose of reality here b/c I am freezing up north here so anything sounds warmer. THanks.

how old are your boys.

how about bringing nylon type shorts (basketball) and sweatpants. Just wear the sweatpants over the nylon shorts, that way if its warm you can just take off the sweats, if its cold put them back on. Sweats pack up easy and can be stuffed just about anywhere.

We were ther last dec and it got pretty cold at nite. Pack clothes that can be layered ie tees, longsleeve tees, sweatshirts, jacket. and those knit beanie hats

I am not taking any shorts for my two boys, just a couple pairs of zip off pants and regular pants. Two-thirds short sleeved ts, and 1/3 long-sleeved. Fleece pullovers and lightweight jackets. Gloves and hats are a must.

Last year, the forecast looked similar to this year but we froze our tushes off as soon as the sun went down. Not sure if it's the higher humidity or what but that is how it was.

The couple days it got to mid 70s, they were comfortable in t shirts and pants. Early morning usually required a jacket.
