So who did everyone use to steam your dresses, and when did you have it done in comparison to your ceremony?

My dress was lace and did not need to be steamed. I just had an ivory sash that was stain so at the last fitting David's steamed that.

Everyone else who has satin dresses seems to use Carolyn Allen's for dress steaming. They will come to the room and steam the gowns and the tuxes.

I actually just booked my steaming with Caroyln Allens for me, my bridesmaids and my mothers dress. She is coming the morning of my wedding to deliver my dress and then steam the girls dresses (they are not shipping). She is coming at 8am for my 5pm ceremony.

HTH!

I spoke with my seamstress and she said that you can go to walmart or whatever and buy a 20.00 steamer and do it yourself. She said that it wouldnt ruin your dress and you will know that is done. I am paranoid that someone would mark up my dress so it does make me feel better to do it myself. :thumbsup2

I had Carolyn Allen do mine. We checked into The Boardwalk Villas on a Sunday for our Monday wedding. In the morning we had our rehearsal and then did a rehearsal breakfast at Cape May Cafe. After this we checked in and Carolyn Allen showed up around 3:00. I had my dress and veil and one of my bridesmaids dresses done. The lady from Carolyn Allen suggested asking housekeeping for two extra white sheets. She steamed the dress haning from the curtin rod and then once it was done she covered the whole dress with the sheets. We were in a studio in the Villas so we had a couch and she had the dress hanging from the curtin rod and then drapped over the couch. As my DH was staying in the room with me this way he was not able to see the dress.

I've got Carolyn Allen too. They are coming out in the afternoon the day before to steam my dress, petticoat, veil and also the dress I am wearing on the night.

It might not need steaming but I want it looking absolutely pristine so don't mind paying for them to do it.
