Dress Codes for Signature Restaurants

They should not have been allowed in dressed like that. As someone who sat next to a family with 3 men/ teen boys whose armpit hair was hanging out at dinner for an entire 7 day cruise, yes, what someone else is wearing DOES effect me. I don't care to look at someone's pit hair while eating. As much as I tried not to notice or let it effect me, their sweaty pits were nauseating in close quarters, so I can see why the rule exists.

I would have had to ask for another seat. Ugh!
I was not turned off by her attire.... just very surprised that she looked like she walked out of the gym into Narcoosee's and they did not bat an eye.

I would not even go into a Texas Roadhouse, Applebee's or Olive Garden like that.

I absolutely cannot believe that I am looking at a photo of someone that was taken without their knowledge/permission & posted on the internet in order to mock their clothing & present a dilemma of "etiquette."

The most tasteless thing I see here (and the largest breach of etiquette) is this thread's existence.

Not sure how much you have actually used social media, but Disney, Cruiselines, Universal, Knott's Berry, etc pages are filled with photo after photo after photo of people with strangers in the background. Viewed from all angles. Front, back, standing, sitting, walking, resting, eyes open, eyes closed, etc. Kids, adults, people in wheelchairs, you name it. If you have been out of your house in the last 10 years, you are probably in some photos on FB, picasaweb, Twitter, Snapchat, and the list goes on. And they did not crop your face out like I did her. You act like I took a photo of somebody in the bathroom and posted it. This is a Disney restaurant, not Target.

I did not take a photo of a young girl's butt. I took a photo of a 60ish year old woman and cropped out all of the faces and people around her. Get a grip.
If you can honestly tell me you have no photos of anybody in Disney from the backside I will retract my comment, otherwise find something legit to complain about.

Yep but I don't purposefully take photos of people in order to ridicule their outfits. Mainly because I'm not a teenager, and I'm a nice person

Having people in the background in a picture and deliberately taking a photo of someone and posting it publicly are two different things. Yes, I can honestly say I have never taken a photo of someone's backside in Disney (or anywhere else for that matter) and posted it publicly on the internet.

The question comes up often. Disney does have a dress code for signature dining but sadly do not enforce it.

"Just Do It" is the mentality I take when contemplating ordering the almond crusted cheesecake on a full stomach.

You do you. At the end of the day - my meal is made by the company around me and the food in front of me.

I made the mistake of overdressing for a Signature dinner once. It was our first trip after my dad went into remission and I felt the need to don a bowtie and nice khakis. I was ridiculed by an over-served guest on the bus for wearing a bowtie to dinner in Disney. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Ultimately, it's up to the restaurant to enforce their policies. If everyone just posted pictures of infractions on the internet without talking to management, they wouldn't really know people opposed it. I'm sure if @LadyDressedUgly was politely asked to come back without the cut-offs she seems reasonable enough to adhere and comply.

This is why i like DCL (or any other lines for that matter) when it comes to dress code. Of course, there are some that doesn't understand or just don't care about others but still...

No, i don't bring my suit in WDW, but when i go to a nice restaurant for dinner, i like to be dressed up accordingly.

Only comment I have is racerback bra. But that goes well beyond attire at a signature restaurant. Exposed bra straps are a sight too commonly seen everywhere.
There's little question on if this fits the suggested attire for the restaurant. It does not.
Why they opt not to act on attire that goes too far, who knows.
More than likely they just hope folks follow their suggestions but they aren't going to turn away customers (outside of V&A that is) that don't dress as suggested, since it's just that. Suggested, not required.

Some enjoy making signature dining an event. Dress up, even a little, make it an event. Some come straight from parks and don't reflect the requested. Dress code for dining

I prefer to dress for the occasion. Nothing crazy fancy unless it is V&A of course. Thank god they enforce the. Code!
