Dress code for parks

"The only way to get to the bottom of this is to see more pictures.

Ladies, please post more pictures of women in tube tops.

LOL! Hilarious!

I was also thinking this story was fabricated, since the OP did not post after his initial post. Either way, I'm sure his mission was accomplished. This has been quite the popular thread....I know I should be spending a lot more time PLANNING, instead of coming back to this thread over & over. I keep telling myself I need to stop wasting my time, but can't help myself :)

wow! so basically this whole thread is just about people trying to figure out just exactly how much skin they can have showing before they are considered indecent...right?!?!:confused3

it's called look in the mirrror.
~you want to look "hot" when going out drinking with buddies
~you want to look "nice" when going to a Family place

Some people like to look "hot" no matter where they are going.

well you don't have to look like you are selling yourself.

personally i think the word "hot" is rather degrading. it's mainly for, how shall i say, 'happy' guys. the guys that are more content with a woman looking like she's selling something. "hot" is a fake 'beauty'

all women, of all shapes, sizes and colors are beautiful, each in their own way. it's called natural beauty, it does exist. women don't need to barely cover themselves and pile on the freakin make-up to be pretty.

*this is where i add my disclaimer and say that these are my personal opinions. i can see that a few people would like to have a say at this post.*

Out of curiosity, I looked at the OP's profile, and tried to pull up his previous posts...guess what- I couldn't. So either it is a glitch in the search system on the boards, or we all have spent 3 days and 17 pages debating something that probably never happened.

Kudos to the spam king!:sad2:

I did that through Google. He has posted mixed comments about Disney. Sometimes he says he likes it, other times he goes on about guest service. Take that as you wish.

No, you don't have to. Of course, as you say, what that means is a personal opinion, and what you consider looking like you're "selling yourself" has nothing to do with how anybody else defines it.

Again, all depends on how you define "hot", and what kind of guys you associate with.

:lmao: Guess I need to find something else fun to read.

I know this post is dead. Or should be dead.
I kind of find "hot" a degrading word as well... I'm not sure why. I don't roll my eyes at those who use it, but I think it's more annoying than anything.
The first thing that comes to mind when I hear "they're hot" is someone looking for a "fun" time and yeah.. selling themselves.

That's just me though, I know other people use the word in other ways. Hot is overrated I think. I'd rather have someone tasteful...
I wouldn't like for my guy to call me hot, like all he wants is a good time...
I always use the word gorgeous etc.... I just don't see how someone calling you hot would be flattering, because it makes me think of just the body and nothing else.

Just a little splurb that has nothing to do with anything, while we're on the subject popcorn::

I am pretty sure that part of the search function is broke. Try it for your own username.

Oh no. I better just pretend like this isn't true. Otherwise I'm going to feel extra badly about the time I spend on DIS.

I agree with you! I cringe when DH even calls me hot, yuck! Anyway I guess this thread is beyond dead.

I first saw this thread yesterday but didn't have time to respond so please forgive me for giving it more life. I would like to speak up in defense of the CM. All we have is one side of the story. It seems to me that the "victim" was clearly dressed in a manner that many people would find offensive. Otherwise the CM would not have felt the need to speak up. The OP did not say that this CM was turning people away 'en masse'. Even if the OP told this story exactly as it happened (which I do not believe) lets give the CM a break. Isn't it possible that she was trying to get her message across in a way that would not be too harsh or hurtful?

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sorry but I must disagree with some of your points.

We can't say with any certainty that the op's wife was dressed in a manner that many people would find offensive. SInce there was no picture of how she was dressed, this assumption doesn't hold water.

If we are to give the CM a break, why can't the same courtesy be offered to the op and believe him for what he say.

WOW 17 pages!!! for a couple of months i've been hoping to ask a question or start a thread that would reach just 2 pages (which happened earlier today finally). I was excited just to see 2 pages on a simple question. just wanted to chime in and i apologize for keeping a dead post open too

Since this tangent is the only thing interesting left to discuss, and to make sure pittypat doesn't think she's a thread-killer...

If a guy you don't know walks up to you and says "Wow, you're hot!", yeah, it's probably best to turn the other cheek (pun intended).

If your husband of 20 years sees you and says "Wow, you're hot!", it should probably be taken as a compliment.

That said, if a guy you don't know walks up to you and says, "Wow, you're gorgeous!", what he really means is "Wow, you're HOT!"

They gave you a refund just like that? Not a bad idea. I think next time I go to WDW, I'll wear a tube top on the last day. Maybe being a man wearing a tube top, they'd refuse me at the gate and I could lobby to get my vacation refunded. Free WDW vacation!

All kidding aside, this is a problem I have seen not only on the boards, but first hand in the parks. It's over sensitive park guests. Now, I am speaking generally here and do not intend to trivialize your wife's feelings or situation. However, people feel that since they pay the outragious amounts of money that they do for a Disney vacation, they are entitled to anything, and that the slightest upset is worthy of a full refund. I can't tell you how many times I have seen park guests get completely bent out of shape over the smallest matters, matters which wouldn't have caused them to blink an eye anywhere else in the "real world." In fact, I remember once reading a post on this very board of a woman who had her vacation "ruined" because someone at the resturant she was at, came and removed a chair from her table, that was not being used, without asking first.

I mean, let's face it folks. We pay a fortune to go to Disney World, so we of course expect the top treatment, and look to escape the pety incidents of the real world, but let's not forget, we are in the real world. We deal with real people in real situations even in the parks, and there are rules.

In short, what I am saying is, when things in the park set us back, why let that ruin your whole vacation and future vacations for years to come, when such a simple thing can so easily be rectified with just a little positive thinking?

As this thread limps its way to a slow and painful death, I thought I would end with a riddle....

Why does Ariel wear sea shells??

Because B shells are too small and D shells are too big:happytv:
