Has anyone ate at Jiko-The Cooking Place? My wife and I are going there for dinner. We are on vacation, it's hot in FL and we don't want to dress up. Can anyone tell me what people were wearing when you visited?

Most wore neat casual when we were there. I would say dress shorts and a nice shirt for men and dress ahorts and blouse or tshirt for the ladies.

Thank you

I usually wear a loin cloth and leave my spear at the door..........

Pirate: The official dress code is the WDW version of business casual--which includes dress shorts or jeans, and a shirt with collar.
But don't be suprised if you see folks allowed in wearing t-shirts , or shorts that aren't exactly "dressy".

Would this be the dress code of all of the "signature restaurants"?
My dh requested a special dinner sometime during our visit to celebrate his birthday. We chose the Flying Fish Cafe - and I didn't realize until I made the ADR that it had a dress code - business casual is what she told me.
We will be there at the end of November - so we might not be in shorts, but I was a bit concerned that we would have to allow enough time to get back the the resort and change before dinner!
I am guessing they wouldn't refuse to allow to eat there if we weren't quite up to normal "business casual" standards?

Just editing to add - we will TRY to get back to the resort if possible - we will be at AK that day and so should be done early enough. I was just worried about what might happen if we couldn't make it back to the Poly to change and then down to the Boardwalk in time for our ressie.

Odds are that unless you're in a bathing suit, you'll get in. Enforcement of the dress code is sporadic--at best. Be aware tho that you may possibly run into a "maverick" manager or podium greeter--that just happened to someone at Artist Point, where he was refused entry because his shirt had no collar (he had on a t-shirt). That was the first time I'd ever heard of anything like that happening in a LONG time--.
Should add that we ate at Flying Fish just a month ago.--There, as at all the Signature restaurants where we ate, folks were allowed in with t-shirts and other "non-code" forms of dress.

Thank you :) - maybe I will just make sure dh is wearing a polo shirt that day - and we will be covered in case we don't make it back to change. Like I said - I plan to go back to the resort - but sometimes "stuff" happens!
