We dont feel like spending a hard saved fortune on a vacation and being forced to wear clothers we are absolutely uncomfortable in.

We will wear nice pants, shoes and a button up shirt on the guys and dresses on the girls but thats about it.

A Tux, no way. Tie? Why feel like Im being choked all through dinner?

That just not me..... but I would feel strange in shorts though.....

Why does it matter what anyone else wears? I think DCL instituted the dress code changes based on the majority of their passenger's preferences.

We will dress comfortable, yet appropriate. We will never dress formal or even semi-formal.

Sorry, but I almost feel like those that like to dress up want the rest of us to do it so they won't feel out of place. I think the everyone that dresses up looks great, it's just not something we are into.

I don't think so.

We cruised DCL last year with our neighbors who'd done the Wonder before, but not the Magic (we'd done the Magic several times.) They'd called us weeks ahead and asked if we were going to dress for formal night, as when they'd sailed DCL it was always 'casual.' I said that many people did dress formal/semi-formal on the Magic, and yes, we were dressing for it, as we like to dress up. Both formal and semi-formal, they dressed casual (polo and khakis.) So what? They gave US a hard time. The husband jokingly said to DH 'I never thought I'd EVER see you wear a suit. LOL! I should take pics and mail them to everyone in the neighborhood! Neither of us said anything. But it gets better. On 'casual' nights, the father in son showed up in shorts, and DCL said nothing, even though shorts are not permitted in the dining rooms. It went a little too far the next casual night, though, when the 11-year old son showed up BAREFOOT, and the maitre d' sent him back to put shoes on. Ironically, this family (husband and wife) had previously been on 12 cruises (Princess, RCL, Carnival). We didn't feel 'out of place,' but I felt as if we were dining with rebellious high-schoolers.

Moderators, this is probably going to be an ongoing battle.
