My husband has a co-worker planning a trip in March of 2005 and has done no research or even made room reservations which blows my mind. He thinks that he can just drive into town and find a room, I guess. Would it be a good idea to give them the number of Dreams Unlimited or any other travel agent service to have them book their rooms. What is Dreams Unlimited's number or can anyone recommend another company to help them? They really don't want to handle the details themselves, they just want to show up and not worry about the details.
We own DVC so we never really had to worry about it.

I've used DU twice for room-only ressies. They primarily deal with their clients over the internet, using email to communicate. You can get a quote from them for free by visiting their website.

There is no obligation to book your reservation with them when you get your quote.

If your friend is certain that they want a package deal instead of booking everything "à la carte", they should be aware that the deposits, payments and cancellation policies are different for packages than they are for room-only ressies. They should familiarize themselves with these differences before they commit to the trip.

If they don't mind corresponding with their travel agent via the Internet, DU is the way to go. They can also make their dinner PS's via the web. It sounds like they would like the MYW package with dining so they don't have to worry about anything. If they would rather correspond with someone in person or over the phone, I would suggest a travel agency in their town.

Hi. If I make a reservation with Dreams Unlimited at the current room rate, will they continue to try to get a lower rate for me? Or once the reservation is made, they leave it alone? Thank you!

They will watch it for you. I always watch myself, just to be sure though.

Yes, they will keep checking your ressie to see if they can apply any discounts. I booked my 7 day WL room only res. at rack rate and then a code came out and we save $700.00 :earseek: They are the only way I will book my trips now. DU will also book priority seating reservations as well. Good luck.

I've been in contact with them myself over the past 24 hours. I have an existing ressie for the CR for April 1-5 and needed to make a ressie for our quick trip Feb3-6. I found quickly that there aren't many discounts out there for Feb. I decided after talking to some of the people here to use them to book my Swan room and take advantage of the DIS discount (rom upgrade, late check out). I called the 800 number and a person there gave me the name and number of one of their agents. I booked the Swan after talking with him. I have since been in touch with Sue Ellen, one of their agents that is a moderator on this board. So helpful!!! After talking with her I turned our April trip over to them, keeping my code rate unless she can find me something better. They will also book your PS' too. I love planning the trip and getting the discounts but I feel great knowing that they are out there doing it for me now. I'm thinking about the Disney cruise and I see that they book that too, amy let them handle that for us.

I have booked my own for 11 trips. I decided to let DU do it this time. I got the AAA rate for my Nov05 trip. So far they have answered all of my questions via email in a very quick turnaroud time.

Thanks so much for all the replies! I can't always watch the rates/codes/etc. so I think they sound like a great way to go.

We used DU for our May 2003 trip....Dagny was our agent and did a wonderful job. I have contacted her about helping with our Oct. 2005 trip as well.

Furthermore, given all of the uncertainty with the new MYW tickets and packages, whether or not codes will or will not be able to be used, it just makes sense to me to get an expert involved in the process. Using DU doesn't mean you can't still do your own homework to see if you can get a better deal, but I've found the DU service (specifically Dagny) invaluable....from prompt responses via email to planning suggested itineraries to sending our 3-year-old daughter a pre-trip surprise. Dagny rocks! :rockband:

In the past, I always booked our trip myself. I used Sue Ellen from Dreams for our December 2004 trip (both AKL and Magic) and I will never do it myself again. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is completely wonderful and very thorough. We are using her again for our next trip.

Also, she did apply a newer code to our reservation before we left and we saved over $500. She even got us the Cindy reservation!!!

We've never used a travel agent before but decided that we are too busy to watch for codes, etc. We decided to use DU for our July trip and have been thrilled so far. Our agent emails just to see if we need anything and responds back so quickly. Here's my only question: will we receive some sort of paper confirmation to take with us or do we just print it out from the website?

Julianne,
With room only reservations you will just print out your confirmation information from your client page. With packages you will get a package in the mail that has the information on it also.
Your confirmation number will also appear on your final itinerary.

I've used them twice. My favorite part of their service is they can make your ps's for you. I got all the ps's I requested through them for both of those trips.:)

I have used DU twice and am using them now to book an October trip. I don't mind conversing on the Internet because my agent, Shirley Ahmed, e-mails me back quite quickly. They set up everything and send me an itinerary. I like them alot. I have recommended them to others and they were also happy.

I use to make all my plans on my own until this past summer when I needed 3 rooms and I just did not want the hassle of trying to get discounts for everyone. I used Dreams Unlimited and Kelsie was my agent, she was great and worked with me, first getting a AAA discount then the Visa rate and finally the AP rates. I like how she handled everything I used DU for my trip this past Dec and again Kelsie was right there.
After 9 years of saying he would never go to DIsney, my husband finally agreed to go this year, well first thing I did was go to DU and look for for a quote for a trip this coming Dec. We will be staying at the Poly and I can not say enough good things about DU and Kelsie.
