So I have sent 2 emails to dreams unlimited about quote request (wasn't sure the first one went through) and have yet to hear back. What is the typical response time? I think it has been over 3 weeks since my first email.
 
I recommend you go to their website and click "Request A Quote" in the top right hand menu. I"ve always had success using that method.

I went to another TA due to their non responses to several emails
 
How odd. I think their usual response time is within 24hrs. I'd definitely try again, sounds like it may be getting caught in a spam filter or something.

We've been happy with Dreams Unlimited. My agent normally gets back to me within a day and will send emails out on who is covering her when she's unavailable.

If you use the request a quote feature, you will get a response immediately first an automated one and then another one from your agent directly. My Dreams agent is Joy Ferson and I absolutely love her and would highly recommend her to anyone. She’s amazing.
 
Unfortunately it seems to be the case with Dreams over the past few years. I have not been thrilled with response time or “assistance”. There is a very big aspect of “urgency” on timing with customers if you want to secure a lower price, a particular stateroom, or port adventures and reservations. I dont feel that Dreams cares about that, and unfortunately we have just reset our expectations to ….

“I am just here for the stateroom credit”

Again, I think this might vary by agent because I always want my booking like immediately when I put in a request (either I want a very specific stateroom or I want a discounted VGT rate before it disappears) and Joy gets it for me right away. I will have it most time in an hour or less (assuming Im making the request not at 3 AM or anything insane).

I have always handled booking my own excursions and things like that to the DCL app as going back and forth about times and such doesn’t make sense.

In the box where it’s like additional information on your quote request, you can absolutely request things like VGT or certain staterooms. I normally list off the stateroom numbers I most want (I come with a top 3). And she kills it every time.

Plus, I’m always going to absolutely adore Joy because she helped walk me through my first sailing when I was traveling with my son who is special-needs and really helped me make sure I knew what I was getting into and she absolutely did not have to do that.

I cannot recommend her enough. Joy Ferson at Dreams is the best.

I will add this was not my experience (not discounting yours by any means, just saying that's not necessarily reflective of all DU agents). I started out using the generic 'request a quote' a couple years ago, got the auto response and then a 'human' response from our agent, Merrie Thomas, within 24 hours. Now I email her directly, and she's always responded within 24 hours (or has an auto-responder on to let us know responses are delayed, but she's also really good about letting her clients know ahead of time when she might be out).

Please accept my sincerest apologies if you are experiencing a delay hearing from your Dreams Unlimited Travel Agent. That is certainly not our goal for responsiveness to clients.

To the OP - waiting 3 weeks for a reply is certainly unacceptable and I completely understand if you decided to look elsewhere for your travel needs.

Even if you are currently using a different TA I would appreciate it if you could email me with some details of the emails you sent. This will help me find out where our systems broke down and fix them so this doesn't happen in the future. It would be most helpful if you could forward me the original email you sent so I can track it through our system and find out what went wrong - john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

I had the exact same experience recently. After maybe 2 weeks I chased them....

But then I thought to check my spam/junk folder and found a quote had been there the whole time.

I don't know why ? because the automatic reply from when I requested the quote came though to my inbox... But the actual quote ended up going to spam....

Please understand I'm not in any way suggesting Dreams Unlimited are at fault here.. it's my mail server. Just wanted to suggest looking in your junk mail as it might be sitting there.
