I just read a post about checking with Dreams Unlimited. We have a reservation in June, rack rate. Will they be any cheaper? We are staying at the Poly. 2 nights.

It's always worth a try. I have requested quotes from DU on two occasions and after waiting several weeks, both times, and several emails later....I found I could book directly with WDW, a bit cheaper. Plus, I like the flexibilty of controlling my own ADRs and reservation, and do not want to email everytime I have a question or change. I have heard that DU is great at looking out for codes, etc.......but, thanks to the great people on the DisBoard, I feel comfortable going it on my own. :goodvibes

I love Dreams Unlimited. I have always found them cheaper than the Disney website, and they check continuously for discounts. I just changed 3 ressies that I had made directly through Disney to Dreams. (I got frustrated with different CM's giving different answers to the same question!:confused3 ) I have never waited more than 24 hours for a response.

How long did it take for DU to respond after you faxed over your authorization? Disney has my ressie listed under them and I have not heard a word yet

I have used Dreams Unlimited for 3 trips now and they are great. I think all three times, initially the rate was the same as I would have gotten if I booked through Disney. However, on my last trip, they found a code that they were able to apply and that made it cheaper. I am sure I could have done the same thing but since they are experienced with that, I feel more comfortable with them doing it.

You also can book your own ADRs if you want but I love that they do that too. Sure, I have made the occasional one myself when it was something we decided late and I didn't want to waste time.

However, I realized the first trip I took with Dreams how much pull they have over me. There was a mistake on one of my ADRs - Le'Cellier with the Candlelight Processional Package (I called to confirm before leaving, during Christmas week 06) - we were a party of 3 and they had us down as a party of 2. Every other ADR was a party of 3 and I tried to explain this but over and over they just told me that there was nothing they could do, that there were no more openings. I e mailed my agent at Dreams - Sue Ellen - and with in a short time it was fixed. I couldn't have done that.

At any rate, I would give it a try...you never know.

Jes

If I'm not mistaken they say it can take up to 5 business days for Disney to transfer it over after you give authorization. I'm sure Disney is not in any hurry! Ours took exactly 5 days. :goodvibes

Disney already transferred it. They actually did it pretty fast which surprised me. I'm just waiting for my TA to get back to me....

Get a new TA that you can talk to. Personal service is very important when it comes to your money and vacation.

I'm giving her until Friday afternoon. I think that's a fair chance. If not I will contact the main email and request a new TA. There may be some things she has to handle on her end after Disney completes their end that I don't know about. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt ;)
