Dreams Unlimited vs. Magic For Less?

We booked using AAA too and we're staying at a deluxe which is a 10% discount - so we saved about $300. The discounts of AAA are why a lot of people go there - thats what AAA is known for. As far as the TAs - we have a good one - she'll book our ADRs (I still might do my own), towncar service & tickets for SeaWorld (also at a discount price).

She saw that my DD1 will turn 2 during our trip and said she can arrange a surprise for DD1 (balloon/autographed card from disney character of our choice) and she'll order the cake as well. Of course we're footing the bill but its nice to have someone do the details. But I am keeping a watch and making sure everything is in order. So far she's done great.

I think TAs are like any other profession - some are good and some are not!

Just keep an eye on whoever you go with after all its your vacation and you want things to be in order. Good luck and have fun!

I'm a little confused by this. I used a travel agent (Small World) for our December trip and got the AAA rate and the best part is since my TA knows we are also passholders and Disney Visa card holders when those dicounts came out they were able to apply them to our reservation. I've never had to use AAA reservations to get a AAA dicount.

Okay... forgive me for being naive... I have never used either service and am curious if they charge anything?

I have an existing reservation, which I may need to change, can either company take my exiting reservation? I have WL booked 11th-17th and may have to change it to the 13th-17th if my DH is allowed to go with us (checking with work). Could they help me make that sort of stuff easier?

I know Dreams doesn't charge, and I have often turned existing reservations that I made over to Sue Ellen. A lot of times I'll get a wild hare and book something on my own, then contact her and turn it over . That way she'll get a commission on it, I'm not out any money, and she can handle making the ADRs for me. You can also still make your own ADRs if you're a control freak like me, then just let them know and they will add them to the itinerary that they prepare for you. She's the best!

I used Dorothy from DU this past August and she was great. I will definately use her again. And I like to support these boards!

Ok - so y'all have convinced me that I should use DU. :) However when I went to their website, I couldn't see a way to request one of the agents recommended within this thread. I'm going to be planning a trip in October 2007; we're REALLY flexible with dates so we had planned to arrange the trip around the best hotel deal that we could get. However it looked like with the DU website that I had to put in dates and couldn't get one of the recommended folks. Is there a way to do that? (to specifically request Agent "X")? The trip will actually be a confluence of two parties that will be staying different nights but with the flexibility in our travel plans I think it would be easier to start just explaining that to an agent rather than guessing the best time to go.

Thanks!

another vote for Deb at the magic for less;but we have also used Maureen from MEI/Mouse fan travel and she has been awesome! She is also a disser. Hope this helps! Angel

I believe there is a box or somewhere on the form where you can add other questions or comments. Unless you can find some kind of general contact e-mail (I don't think they give a phone # out until you actually make a ressie), maybe you could just type in any dates in Oct. 2007, just to get the ball rolling and get an idea of what kind of rates you're looking at -- you won't be tied to those dates until you actually place a deposit. Then on the bottom of that request form, mention your situation on how you are really flexible, etc.

As for requesting a certain agent, I just type it in the question/comment box on the bottom of the form.

LuvTigger is right - if you want to request a specific agent, just type his/her name in the Special Requests box (I am requesting Agent XYZ). Also, in that box, indicate that your travel dates are flexible and that you can travel any time during the month of October.

We used someone from The Magic For Less and I wouldn't really use them again. They were great about calling up for the free dining promotion, but I felt like I had to be on top of them and keep reminding them. They should be reminding me about things like making ADRs, but they never did until WAY after the 180 day window. Sometimes they responded to emails right away and other times I had to email a couple of times before I got a response.

Next time I'm booking it myself so I can be in control of everything.
