Dreams Unlimited for booking DCL cruise

Planning first DCL cruise. I need recommendations for a travel agent. If I go with Dreams Unlimited, can I combine DVC points & cash for the reservation? Or can I only do that directly through Disney's site?

If you use points to book any part of the cruise, you have to go through member services, unless things have changed since last July.

That’s correct. Points = DVC = member services. Think of DVC as a giant travel agency.

DU cannot work with another agency’s proprietary system. I’m just restating what JM explained himself on his DU podcast.

DU can save you a lot in shipboard credits (we got $450) at the same price as booking directly. The DVC exchange rate is not strong; truly it’s better to sell your points (can use David’s for example) and then use that cash toward your cruise.

Will DU also book your airfaire and pre and/or post hotel? Or do they just do the cruise part? Maybe you could use your DVC points for an add on post vacation that you book on your own.

We've never used our DVC points for cruises because it's not a good value. But, we do always use DU for our cruises. It certainly wouldn't hurt to contact them to ask your questions.
