Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

I don't care what the situation is, a simple excuse me would have sufficed. There is never any reason to pass judgment on, or vocalize opinoins about complete strangers. Or people you know for that matter! Very rude, I am sorry you had to deal with that.

I would like to point out, in some cosmic balance to the universe, that after your horrible experience, you met a really nice CM. Disney karma coming into play I think. I'm glad it didn't ruin your night and I'm especially pleased to hear that you rode Pirates three times. ;)

That was so rude!! I can't believe that some people have NO manners!!!:scared1: Good for you Jen for speaking up! I am glad that you were both able to move on and not let it ruin your night. LL, I bought the parade music CD on my last trip. It is in my car right now. Great Spectro pictures!
It really was rude. I couldn't believe it when Jen told me...not at all what I was expecting!
Okay, I am like Jen in the way that I am usually very calm and mild mannered -- it takes a LOT to make me really upset or angry, but just reading that made me :furious: and I wasn't even there. I think I would have lost it hearing that. UGH. I am so glad it didn't ruin the rest of your MK night, though! I was really worried about that after I read your last update.

I've never really watched Spectro from Liberty Square, mostly in Frontierland, but I watched it by myself when my dad, Kailyn, and I were at MK and I was kind of near where you were. I love watching from up there! There is something so special to me about MK at night. I mean, I love it any time of day, but nighttime there is my very favorite.

The pictures of you guys on Dumbo are so cute! I love the one of the blurry Dumbos with the castle in the background, too; that turned out so cool!
I'm really glad I didn't actually hear them say that. Thank goodness I was off in my own little world! I've only watched Spectro from Liberty Square and I always like it. I have a thing for Liberty Square anyways. :rotfl:

I'm so sorry you guys had to deal with such mean spirited women (especially Jen). :sad2: I always like to tell myself that people like that are just so unhappy with themselves and their lives that they have to take it out on others.

How cool the CM had a tag from UMO! I went there!
I was so excited when I say his tag. I am such a dork but it makes me happy when I see other people from Maine.

Grrrrrr to the rude people! What's up with that anyway?

I adore your Dumbo pictures! You always take the best ones!!

We are trying The Plaza in the near future, not sure which trip but sometime soon!
:goodvibes
I don't know what is up with that. Jerks.

I may have had a cream cheese pretzel and frozen coke for breakfast one day ;) :rotfl: Please don't judge me :rotfl2:

STUPID RUDE PEOPLE. Do you find yourself convinced that they come from another area of the country or must be Yankee fans or something :rotfl:

I can NOT believe the comment. And I'm so impressed with Jenn for saying something :thumbsup2 WAAAAAY to go! LL- you have a true friend there

LOVE the Topiary pic...how do you feel about photo theft ;)
That is the breakfast of champions!

Yes, they MUST be Yankee fans! Why didn't I think of that? :rotfl2:

I was super proud of her too because I know that is not how she is usually. I do have a true friend in her!

OOOPs...I totally forgot to say what I got in the Philharmagic shop....LOL...I got the Wishes Soundtrack to add to my collection of nighttime entertainment CDs from Disney!!!
Ahhh yes! I remember now!

Rude people stink! :headache: Sorry that had to happen.

Glad you enjoyed Plaza. YUM!

All in all looks like a really fun evening. Would you believe I've still never seen Spectro? :rolleyes1
It's really okay that it happened because it didn't ruin our night at all. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm glad your entire day wasn't ruined by that episode of ridiculous rudeness and thoughtlessness! :sad2: So sorry that happened to you.

The food at the Plaza looked great. I really enjoyed that restaurant when we tried it last summer. I'd love to go there again soon.

You got your blurry Dumbo shots! Riding Dumbo during Wishes sounds fantastic. What a fantastic first ride, Jen!

Sorry about the rude people... I have a tact issue currently that I am dealing with too!

Love the Wishes CD... in my car all the time. Anita was so kind to send it to me.

The location would be totally awesome to be that close to DTD. That is where I would love to stay ... walking to DTD to shop without my kids would be so wonderful!
It was a really nice view. I'm just glad we didn't let those rude ladies ruin our night.

Woot! I keep reading TRs and finding reviews of places I want to try out. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves at the Plaza. The philly cheesesteak and brownie sundae look delish.

The lighted topiary in front of the pink castle is beautiful. :goodvibes

The Big Incident. My reactions to those kinds of things is kind of in the middle of the two of you. I would be instantly furious and a little teary at the same time and I usually think of what I should have said later on. Did they at least look the teensiest embarrassed?

Staking a spot on the ground for Spectro is definately worth it. Great pics!

First ride ever on Dumbo? What a great introduction!

BTM is definately fun in the dark. Too funny about the little girl who was giggling at your screaming. :rotfl: We've yet to try JC in the dark... good CM's can make all the difference.
Like I said, I'm really glad that I didn't hear it because I probably would have burt into tears. I don't remember if they looked embarassed...I don't think they cared though they did try to get way ahead of us once they got their glasses.

Wow, people really are just plain rude. I'm so glad you responded Jen! I usually try to respond too. But I have a theory - people are stupid. I know it's a huge generalization - but in my line of work, we see people that have done so many stupid and selfish things, we start to get very cynical. Sadly, it's usually because they are insecure, don't have a good family life or were not raised by people who taught them manners and common courtesy. They just get sassy and garbage comes out of their mouth.
Anyway - you handled it very well and I commend you. I will say things sometimes, but usually it is in a way that I'm trying to teach my children that such behavior is NOT OKAY.

Glad to hear you both had fun (except pm BTMRR for LL!) and got to do some cool rides at night! We like JC too! Jen, I can't believe you've never been on Dumbo til now!!! Of course, the lines usually are so ridiculous that we skip it - but we HAVE ridden it!
We enjoyed the Plaza too - it's good food - a bit crowded though.
You are so right. I also think that they are the type of people that will go to Disney once, hate it and never go back. I say good riddance to them!

OH! I would have been spitting nails!

And said a lot more than Jen did.

I am glad your lunch was so lovely and the wonderful CM and a Wish filled Dumbo cleared all of it away.
I wish I was the type of person who would say more but I always think of things to say after the fact.

I would've punched her, but that's just me....
Now that would have been a sight to see! :rotfl:
I'm sorry you guys encountered those Rudos! That's what Zach, DS6, calls Alex, DS9 when he thinks he's being rude!

Zach & I got to watch Wishes from BTMRR last year. :thumbsup2 DH & Alex were actually on Splash at the same time. I bet seeing Wishes from Dumbo was AWESOME! Our view was a bit obstructed - it was probably perfect for you guys!
Hehehe, Rudos. I like that!

Ohhhh I am so sorry about the rudeness you encountered  I am afraid of what I would have said...I would have been shaking and lightheaded.....I always seem to get really lightheaded when I get angry :rotfl2: I am glad you were able to recover and push on....although LL I'm sorry about BTMRR ;) although you probably made the little girl's night!
You both have such great PP pictures.....Tiana and Naveen being ones of my favorites :goodvibes
Going back a bit to Cape May...I stayed there when I was at Wigd's and C's home and had dinner at CM. I thought it was really good and ate about 7 dozen clams  just kidding.....ick on the breakfast pizza though...I am just not a breakfast pizza kind of girl though...
Happy to be caught up! :p

Tracy
We did have an excellent night, except for being whipped around on BTMRR. :rotfl2:

I am so sorry you had to encounter such rude people.

I love the Dumbo photos. And Dumbo at night looks so much better than Dumbo during the day :goodvibes
Dumbo at night is amazing, I just wish it was a little longer. Hopefully the refurbed Dumbo will be a teeny bit longer since they will have two going.

First of all, good for you, Jen for saying something to those awful people!! If there is one thing I have zero tolerance for it's people being mean-spirited and rude. But I have to say, I probably would have been in that camp that would have thought of something witty to say later on. But good for you, Jen!!! :thumbsup2

And I LOVE your Dumbo ride pictures!! The last one where it's spinning around is so cool!!!

The pic of the topiaries in front of the castle was awesome. I am also very sorry about the rude lady. I would have  I am glad you said something. Great swirly Dumbo pics. Yay for new music. That sundae at the Plaza looked yummo!
The swirly pics of Dumbo came out really well, even the one with my teeny point and shoot camera!

I will not even acknowledge the rude person with a comment. :snooty:

Wow! Your Spectro pix are fantastic... mine are always blurry.

I was just talking about the Magic in Our Streets CD on my report... and I have the Wishes CD, too! Its so much fun to listen to WDW music when you are either planning a trip or in withdrawal from the last one!

Great score on your DTD view!

Kathy
Magic in Our Streets, that is what it is called! My favorite part is the Stars and Motor Cars parade, I really wish I had gotten the chance to see that.

I also love the Dumbo pictures!
Thanks!

Ugh..I hate rude people! It sounds like you guys handled it great though..very cool that you ran into a CM from Maine, of all places! I'm glad your night got better from there!
The night only got better after the rudie patooties! :thumbsup2

I can't stand rude, mean people! Someone would have had to hold me back! :headache:

I am glad the CM and a beautiful ride on Dumbo were able to restore your good moods!

Did Jen tell us what CD she bought? Oh, and the ice cream from the Plaza looks delicious!
Between Jordan punching and you having to be held back...well man! I wish we had all been in line together. :rotfl: Jen bought the Wishes CD.

Tiana and Naveen were great for us, too. They are good with the witty conversation. I hope they stick around, too. They should put a New Orleans themed meeting place for them in the new Fantasyland expansion. That would be cool.

I rely on my Disney CD's to get me back into some sort of sanity when I leave school in the afternoons - get in the car, pop in a CD, and transport myself far away from my classroom. :goodvibes

It's so fun to see you girls having such a good time in these pictures. :)
That would be cool. Tiana deserves to have her own meet & greet area in Fantasyland for sure.

Your Plaza meal sounded good! I've never been impressed with their menu, but maybe I will give them a try.

I'm so sorry about that rude woman. I felt like crying as I was reading about it.

You had an amazing spot for Spectro!

Love the pics of Fantasyland at night!
I was never impressed with their menu either but it was really good. It was also an inexpensive meal so worth paying OOP for.

Sounds like a bang-up evening at MK overall. Glad you didn't let anyone take away your enjoyment at being there.
Nope, we didn't. That would have been letting those rude people have power over us.

I don't care what the situation is, a simple excuse me would have sufficed. There is never any reason to pass judgment on, or vocalize opinoins about complete strangers. Or people you know for that matter! Very rude, I am sorry you had to deal with that.

I think you are right. We had Disney Karma for sure the rest of the night!

Well, I'm glad your entire day wasn't ruined by that episode of ridiculous rudeness and thoughtlessness! :sad2: So sorry that happened to you.

And I LOVE your Dumbo ride pictures!! The last one where it's spinning around is so cool!!!

That's just what it was too...they were just being mean-spirited and there was no need for it! And really even if we had cut them in line, did we deserve those rude comments?

Between Jordan punching and you having to be held back...well man! I wish we had all been in line together. :rotfl: Jen bought the Wishes CD.

Oh, I can go all Jerry Springer Southern White Trash when I need to. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Well, actually, I never have, but if I was mad enough, I bet I wouldn't have any trouble doing so. ;)

I LOVE your photos on Dumbo & of Spectromagic. Jen really kept her cool in that situation...I would've been right up in that woman's face!!!
I'm heading on over to check out your blog now!

All our photos at MK turned out really well. I think that is the most photogenic park. :rotfl2:

That comment by that mean %$&*) was totally rude and it just goes to show how people have no idea how misplaced a comment can be. I hope she knows what a jerk she sounded like. Plus what's up with large groups of people thinking they can never be broken up. :confused3 Chill people...its gonna happen when there are 10 or more people in a group.

Sorry you guys had to experience that mean spirited attitude, but it looks like the rest of your evening more than made up for it!

:rotfl:and I bet I could go all Jerry Springer Northern White Trash if I had to! Especially since that's the favorite TV show by most of my patients. I think its on 24/7 ! Oh yeah - I could seriously do some JSWT talk!

I have a feeling she has no idea what she did wrong. Stupid lady.

Our evening totally made up for the rudeness!

I can't believe that Jerry Springer is still on! :rotfl2:

So sorry to hear about the rude lady! People never cease to amaze me. I am glad that you did not let it get you down and enjoyed the rest of the day.

:thumbsup2 Wishes and Dumbo--truly magical. We always hit Dumbo first thing with DS but I have always wanted to do it at night.

Look forward to the next update!

We had come to our last full day in Disney.

While I was having a fabulous time, I felt really guilty being in Disney without Marc this time around. I had been planning to go with Jen in October again but I decided while I was there that I didn't want to go to Disney without Marc anymore. So I was trying to enjoy this day because who knew when I'd make my way back down there.

We had a leisurely morning, we didn't set the alarm but we were both up pretty early again. We were in no rush to make rope drop at Animal Kingdom so I took some time to read outside on our balcony. We had an awesome view.

I really enjoyed our relaxed start to our morning!

Before too long we trekked out to the car with our fancier change of clothes for dinner at Jiko and made our way over to Animal Kingdom.

I'm not 100% sure what time we made it there but it was after rope drop. Who do we meet outside the gates but Brer Rabbit and Meeko!

So excited!! 2 more characters I hadn't met before WOOT! I can't wait to scrapbook a page of nothing but my character meets!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2438.jpg

Once inside the gates, Jen decided to get fastpasses for Expedition Everest and I stuck around It's Tough to be a Bug and waited. I was not 100% sure that I'd be going on EE. BTMRR had scarred me the night before.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2454.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2459.jpg

Once Jen returned, we went and saw It's Tough to be A Bug. I remember it being different. Didn't there use to a be a giant Hopper that came out? Maybe I missed him...I don't know. The poor screaming children though, that really isn't meant for kids.

Yes, Hopper use to come out, but I think he's broken (read it somewhere) so at this time he is not coming out! Poor traumatized children, felt so bad for them!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2481.jpg

After, It's Tough to be a Bug we headed towards Asia. Jen wanted her Frozen Chai. Then we decided to see if Yak & Yeti could take a bit earlier since they had just opened.

FROZEN CHAI was amazing!! OH MY I really really wish I could have one right now!! I will definitely be getting one of these EVERY trip I take to Disney!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2485.jpg

I tried a teeny taste and Patricia was right, it totally tasted like Christmas. Ick.

Continued in the next post...

They could! It was really beautiful in there. We had a seat on the second floor near the stair case. Not the greatest view but it was okay. We had a very nice CM for a waitress and she was very...chatty. Her and Jen talked science and my eyes glazed over but she was very nice.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2488.jpg

I got the DimSum basket which was fresh and delightful and the egg rolls which were phenomenal!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2509.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2510.jpg

I ordered the Kobe Beef burger without the bun. It came with a cucumber salad and french fries. This was one of the if not the best thing I ate at Disney this entire week. I ate the entire 9oz burger...and let me just say that I'm only supposed to eat 4oz at a time. Jen did have a few bites but I ate the majority myself. It was so nicely made and the sauce with it was awesome. It also had a mushroom thingy on top...I don't know the technical name but it was YUMMY. I dream about this burger. The only bad thing is that I was stuffed to the gills, I didn't feel very well after this meal because I'm not used to eating that much food at once nor do I eat a lot of beef anymore.

I would get the beef next time!OH so good!!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2505.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2506.jpg

I did manage to help Jen eat her fried wontons for dessert though. YUM!

Oh this dessert makes me so happy!!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2511.jpg

As I waddled out of Y&Y, we decided to head towards Rafikii's Planet Watch. On the way we had our picture taken in front of the Tree of Life.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2513.jpg

It was a nice little train ride out there, it was really crowded though. Or so it seemed. It took us awhile to make our way through the crowds to the actual building. Inside we were on a character mission. We met Jiminy Cricket, Rafikki and Pocahontas. Of course we had to use the bathrooms too just to check out the poo facts!

Woot!! 2 more characters I had never met before!!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2525.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2526.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2529.jpg

We had another lovely train ride back to the park. We decided to meander over to Camp Minnie/Mickey. We stopped in a couple of shops. I usually get a stuffed animal every trip and I really wanted to get one of the animals that was wrapped in a blanket but I didn't. I'm still kicking myself about that. I did find an excellent Tiana pin though, I think Jen found it for me. I had been hunting for one of Tiana in her pretty green dress and finally it was mine!

I did I did! I was very excited to show you my find!

We asked a CM about Thumper and Miss Bunny but they didn't think they were out...then I spotted her! Miss Bunny. I was so excited about this meet and greet. Thumper is one of my favorite characters and one of the very first romantic cards Marc gave me while we were dating had Thumper on it so I have special spot for him in there. Of course...Thumper wasn't there but Miss Bunny was and that had me thrilled.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2535.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2538.jpg

After meeting the cutest little bunny ever, we headed over to Finding Nemo. On the way we did more shopping. I bought Marc an AK flashlight keychain. He works overnight so he always likes having one on his keychain and a magnet. I also bought more pins. I bought one of my favorites from my trip. It's of Ariel with 20th on it for the 20th anniversary of The Little Mermaid...that makes me feel really old.

We lined up for Finding Nemo and that is where I was traumatized by the screams coming from Expedition Everest. Ask Jackie....I was texting her back and forth at this time. Jackie assured me that it was just a sound track but I didn't know if I believed that. They were very convincing terrified screams. I still wasn't feeling 100% from eating the burger so I was scared about riding EE. After I was sufficiently traumatized we were let in and we got awesome seats up front. I took a few pictures with my cell phone trying to capture a wallpaper for my phone but nothing with my camera. I wanted to just enjoy the show...and I did. It was awesome to see the performers up so close.

I loved Nemo and we had great seats! I really enjoyed watching the show!! I would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet!!

Once we done in Nemo, we headed towards EE. I let Jen ride by herself. I just wasn't up too it. I was feeling awful at this point. Jen went through the line super fast, less than 10 minutes and we were heading out to the park.

We made a very sad decision while walking out of the park...we would be canceling Jiko. Sigh. I knew that I wouldn't be able to eat a whole lot and I didn't want to eat an expensive meal when I wasn't feeling great. I'm still sad about this. I told Jen she could go by herself but she didn't want too. We went back to the room and Jen went to DTD for a little bit of shopping and she brought back Wolfgang Puck Express for us to eat. By the time she got back, I was ready to eat again.

Souvenir Pics. I took a picture of ALL the pins I bought and traded for.

DisneyJanuary2010291.jpg

DisneyJanuary2010290.jpg

DisneyJanuary2010289.jpg

These were for my co-worker.
DisneyJanuary2010287.jpg

At this point, I was really ready to go home and I was upset that I chose a later flight. I wish I was leaving in the morning. I decided that I didn't want to go to the park the next morning. I wanted to have a relaxing morning before leaving since I would have to be at work bright and early the day after I got home.

DisneyJanuary2010294.jpg

We watched some TV...Secret Life of an American Teenager which I got Jen hooked on...I believe she ordered the first season from Amazon when we got home! Hehehe. Then we went to bed.

Coming up...

Departure Day.

I have so much to say I want to remember it all! :lmao:

I love your photos from Saratoga Springs. It definitely makes me interested in staying there, it looks absolutely beautiful.

It looks like you got some really rare character meets, and that is too cool! I have never seen Miss Bunny, that's really amazing. I'm so glad you had a good meal at Yak and Yeti, another place I am dying to try and have never been able to get a ressie for.

I just wanted to mention, if I haven't before, that I think you and Jen look awesome in your shirts, and I'm really glad that I picked those colors. Nice and bright and so much fun! :goodvibes

Looks like you had a few great days, the rude woman notwithstanding. Jen is a much better person than me, because I would have said something, or at least elbowed her - unintentionally of course.
