Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

You guys were on it, I can't believe you're almost done! It looked like you had a great time at AK! Leslie, sometimes on vacation you just need to relax, I can't blame you for staying behind that last morning.

Jen- Looks like you really enjoyed your last morning at the MK..very cool that you set up a list of "things to do"! Good thinking to take pics in the stretching room! You got a lot of great character interaction too, hopefully we'll be just as lucky!

Wow I can't believe your TR is over already! :sad1:

Jen, those are great HM pics! I hope you printed one and framed it :goodvibes

Ok so when does the next PTR start? Are you really not going in October?

Loved the yak & yeti review! I think we will add for the summer! You both seem to have so much fun! Looking forward to reading more. Last days are hard I know but looks like you made the most of it!

There's nothing wrong with spending a morning just relaxing around the hotel. With how little time you said you had to get moving back into your "real" life at home you probably needed the break.

So glad your feet did well this trip.
I really did need the break and it was a good way to spend a little more time at SSR.

I was PAGES behind! I've been pretty much off the DIS for days though, so what do I expect? ;)

First, THANK YOU to everyone who gave me a review of the Wii and Wii Fit! Is the EA Sports game just for the regular Wii? Due to finances we probably cannot afford both the Wii AND the Wii Fit right away, so it would be prefect to get a game that would make me sweat! Then when we can afford it also get the Wii Fit.

I'm so sorry about all those rude people you encountered! Geez! One after another after another! :sad2: Despite it all, sounds like a lovely day. Glad you pushed all those yucky moments out of your mind and enjoyed your time!

I love the pic of you kissing your cream cheese pretzel. :rotfl::rotfl:

You guys got such a GREAT room at SSR! Isn't that view wonderful? We were in that building, on the top floor in the end room and we just loved sitting on the balcony soaking it in. :cloud9:

I'm sad to see your report come to an end! I hope you have news of a LL & Marc trip coming soon. :goodvibes
You will love EA Sports. You don't need the Wii Fit with that so it sounds like a good game to get along with the Wii for exercise. :thumbsup2

I enjoyed our MK day despite all of the rude encounters.

I hope I have news of a trip soon too. I want to plan! :rotfl2:

Yes, it's sad that this is almost done. It's the fastest TR I've had!

Wow I can't believe your TR is over already! :sad1:

I don't know when the next PTR starts, probably not until I have a trip booked. I'm really not going in October unless I win the lottery or something. :rotfl2: I loved going in January though so I'm hoping a trip next January will work out for us. I will say that I do have a tentative itinerary going...it's on draft #1. ;)

Loved the yak & yeti review! I think we will add for the summer! You both seem to have so much fun! Looking forward to reading more. Last days are hard I know but looks like you made the most of it!
Y&Y was super yummy. I had been skeptical but I loved everything that I tried!

I have really enjoyed your TR LL and Jen! I am looking forward to reading your final thoughts too.

Jen & I had a great trip. We did learn things and we did have a couple of incidents that were less than magical but at least those things make our TR more exciting!

Port Orleans French Quarter/Riverside:

Leslie: I'm bunching these together since we loved Riverside just as much if not more than French Quarter. I adored French Quarter. I loved the size and the atmosphere. I do regret not being able to go for a swim but I know that I'll stay there again someday. Oh and the boats can't be beat!

Favorite Port Orleans Memory: Our Carriage ride.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2020.jpg

Jen:I just adored both of these resorts!! The atmosphere was so much fun and you really felt transported to a whole new world! I was very impressed with the decoration and I'm very excited to be staying at POR in the future! I am going to stay in one of those mansions LOL! I also thought the CMs were very friendly and the beignets were so yummy!

Favorite Port Orleans Memory: Our carriage ride!

Hollywood Studios:

DisneyJanuary2010114.jpg

Leslie: I did not enjoy the first day that I had to do the TSM running of the bulls but I was happy to see that on the second day it was better controlled by Disney. I really enjoyed our last minute lunch at Mama Melroses and plan to eat there again. Brown Derby was delicious as always. I loved that we were able to meet so many great characters too.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2058.jpg

Favorite Hollywood Studios Memory: Was actually three moments...I really loved riding Toy Story Mania with Jen. We had a blast on the ride each time.

Jen: DHS just has a very special place in my heart! I just love the feel of the park and always enjoy my time there!! TSM is a blast and the food...oh Mama Melrose and Brown Derby were to very good meals!

Favorite Hollywood Studios Memory: Getting the Cowboy side of GMR!

Epcot:

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2394.jpg

Leslie: I did not get Epcot overload! Yay! I had been really worried about this and was really glad that I was able to enjoy Epcot this time around. I think the trick for me enjoying Epcot is to not plan too many things that I want to do. Taking a laid back approach is much better for me.

Favorite Epcot Memory:
Hmmm...this is a tough one. I think it's a tie. #1 is meeting Mary Poppins and having her sign my cookbook. #2 is the picture with Princess Jasmine. I have looked at that picture so often because I like the way I look in it and it shows me how far I have come with losing weight.

DisneyJanuary2010077.jpg

Jen: I fall a little bit more in love with EPCOT each time I go! I agree no OVERLOAD this time! I just love World Showcase and you can't be Soarin'!

Favorite Epcot Memory: I really loved the meet and greet with Mary Poppins! She was so in character!!

Magic Kingdom:

Leslie: Oh, what a day this turned out to be! Between meeting a CM from York, Maine to having people say rude things about me. It was still a fabulous day though. There are so many highlights from this day....meeting Princess Tiana & Prince Naveen, seeing the Hall of Presidents refurb, my cream cheese pretzel and don't forget screaming my head off on BTMRR.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2139.jpg

Favorite Magic Kingdom Memory: Watching Spectromagic from right up against the rope, it was so beautiful.

Jen: Magic Kingdom is the epitomie of Disney! This park just holds so many good memories for me!! While we did have our ups and downs at the end of the day I was able to smile and say I really had a great time! I was pleasantly suprised by the Plaza and we got some great shots!Spectro once again took my breath away!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2140.jpg

Favorite Magic Kingdom Memory: Riding Dumbo for the first time right at the beginning of Wishes...talk about magical!

DisneyJanuary2010218.jpg

Animal Kingdom:

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2525.jpg

Leslie:
Normally I'm not a huge fan of AK. I liked how we toured this day though. We had a very specific list of things we had to do and I enjoyed every single one of them.

Favorite Animal Kingdom Memory: Meeting Miss Bunny.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2535.jpg

Jen: Love the details and character interactions at AK! I think I met the most new characters that day at AK! I also finally experienced heaven in a cup in terms of the Frozen Chai and I really enjoyed Finding Nemo!

Favorite Animal Kingdom Memory: Finding the Sleeping Beauty Fairies and Haunted Mansion bust pins!

General Thoughts:

Leslie: I missed Marc on this trip a lot. I felt bad about not being there with him. I'm really looking forward to our next trip together. Jen and I also learned something together on this trip. We love vacationing together but we decided when we got back that 3 nights is a good time to share a room. We get along really well but we were feeling the space crunch towards the end of our trip. So we've decided that we'll have a three night maximum on sharing a room or we'll go down at the same time and have our own rooms. Anyone who has the gastric band shouldn't be worried about eating at Disney. I was always able to find band friendly choices and the CM's were great in accommodating any special requests I had. I did find that I liked sitting down for a meal better than counter service. There is a better variety at table service. I think if I had eaten more CS I would have quickly gotten sick of the choices. I wanted to give you an official bandaid count for the trip too. I used exactly ONE bandaid and that was on departure day. I think I found a blister prevention course of action that really works for me. Good sneakers, body glide and powder in my socks. I think that was the most stressing thing to me before this trip and it turned out to be no problem!

Jen: I learned that I love Disney in January!! My two favorite times of the year are Food and Wine and January and I think after this next fall trip January will be winning over!!! The weather was very nice and the crowds were very easy to navigate!! Just wonderful!! I also have to agree with Leslie that I love using TS meals has nice breaks! Now that I am no longer in Turbo Tour mode its much easier to just take in what I want and just relax especially at meal times! Relaxing and stopping to smell the roses was really the theme of this trip. It also fascinated me that no matter how many times I have gone there is always something new to discover and that is what is going to keep me coming back!

So Long...Farewell....:

Leslie: So this is it. I'm ending this Trip Report without a PreTrip Report in the works. Heck, I'm ending it without my next trip booked. That hasn't happened to me on my last two trips to Disney. I will admit that I've been pricing out trips and talking to Marc about when we should go next. We have a couple of deciding factors though so everything is a bit up in the air for right now. I think that if things to do work out for a Disney trip we are planning on going in January 2011. I did tell Marc that if we are going then that I want to make sure we are booked more than six months out for sufficient ADR planning time. ;-)

Jen: I'm ending this with a trip report from October I still have to finish LOL!!! Thankfully my next PTR doesn't have to start until April or May! I think I have finally figured out that I'm more a PTR girl than a TR girl LOL!!! I'm very much looking forward to going back in October for Food and Wine, but I have to you know move first...so that will be my focus for awhile!

Thanks for reading along and....

See ya real soon!!!

A Disney girls' trip! Why didn't I ever think of that. Too bad the only person I know that loves Disney enough to agree to a WDW trip is my DH...
